If Floyd wants to Follow the footsteps of ATG

Floyd's issue is that if he is to establish himself as a much greater fighter, he has to face his toughest challenge at the end of his career. The Alvarez victory may well get better as time goes on, but from what I've seen, he lacks the stamina to fight 12 solid rounds of boxing for that sole reason I don't see him matching up well H2H against any fighters of real significance of the past.

 

I honestly don't think he gives a **** about following other atg footsteps in our eyes, all the tbe bollox is largely for promotional purposes.

I think Rigo, who is at least as skilled but has not got close to atg status, apparently turning down worthwhile fights is a far bigger issue than what floyd, with his pretty good resume, does in the last year of his career. Rigo is the one blowing potential atg status imo.

I don't even get why people want floyd ggg, i mean i get that people want to see him lose but that loss would mean **** all. Gimme the pac fight any day.

 

Good solid post BD ...That,s why you have to give big kudos to SRL for taking Hagler... Retired and coming back against a beast like Hagler,who not primed anymore but still champ and dangerous. At the time, ti was thought to be a suicidal move for SRL. Floyd would wilt under the intense mental and physical intensity of Duran,SRL and even worse Hearns...

 

So?

Floyd was a great super-featherweight. You say he would lose to Duran, Ray Leonard and Hearns like it's an indictment. Those are some of the best welterweights head-to-head that you could find.

It's an old sport, guys, and some fighters have done amazing things. Why diminish the achievements of a current fighter because he's not the best to ever do it? Most others who will come along won't be, either?

I think people react to Floyd and his peeps with all the, TBE stuff... When you brag,act obnoxious and carefully select your opponents... He opens himself up for comparisons with some true,ATG,s...He can,t have it both ways... Act like an arrogant,pompous ass,talk down all the fighters and holler that HE is the best...

 

Floyd should fight Khan, Andrade, Thurman, or Brook.

 

The World middleweight champion is Miguel Cotto. Don't confuse that with him being the best middleweight today....but credit to Cotto...for stepping up, challenging history....when Floyd was content to masturbate at 147/154.
