GGG: the most important factor in this fight was my conditioning. The camp was very good. I was happy with everything. The problems started during our flight to Panama. We lost two much time in LA airport. At passport control there were sudden questions about my visa although I had both Schengen and US visa so I didn't have to have a Panama visa. The airport staff took my passport for two hours and I missed my flight. The next flight was available only the next day. And we then had issues with connecting flights. So we spent two days in airports and flights. All this time I couldn't have a proper rest or training. We arrived to Panama half an hour before the weigh in so we went there straight from the airport. And I felt exhausted. Off course we should have arrived earlier but we screwed. I didn't have an opportunity to rest and acclimatise. When it was time to fight I felt I wanted to sleep.
My luggage went to Panama first whilst u stuck with my visa, so I could not shave myself.

Off course we could not allow ourselves to refuse to fight after everything that was done. I didn't think about tactics or skills, I just had to win. If you noticed I worked in a monotonous pace without trying to land accurate punches. No tactics. Who out-hustles the other. I hope fighters will think I am flawed and will stop avoiding me:)

Max German: GGG had visa issues and had to spend two days in airports/flights. He had to cut his weight in airport, and once in Panama his weight was less than Ouma's. On a fight day he was always sleeping exhausted after the trip. He could not recover, he had no power. He asked me to bring a cup of concentrated strong tea right before the fight.

Maxim Golovkin: Well we had Ouma as GGG's sparring partner for Proksa fight. Ouma felt overwhelmed and decided to leave the camp.

Funny. I'd noticed it's the only fight I'd seen GGG unshaven, and I knew the circumstances, but I figured surely he'd be able to find a razor from somewhere. I guess fight days are pretty busy though - I guess maybe shaving wasn't the top priority, specially if he had to catch up on his sleep.

WOW, despite of all these things gone wrong GGG managed to send Ouma to ICU.

Froch and Golovkin are cut from the same cloth. I'd like to see them fighting @ 168 lbs on Wembley arena.:yep

Some halfwit Mayweather zealot will be along in a minute crying ''excuses excuses'' meanwhile most of their idols never encounter or have to overcome these kind of testing and unfavourable circumstances because they spend their entire prime (or often their whole career *cough FMJ cough*) getting spoon-fed and coddled back home in Murica.

If that is all true - and there's no reason to think this account is false - it is testament to the guy's character, as well as his conditioning. I can't see how he could have been optimally prepared (both physically and particularly mentally), going into that bout - and yet, he just went in their and got on with the job.

Is there a rule against mentioning other fighter's names on threads that aren't about them or something? Even if many of the fighter's fans you're referring to just so happen to make up the bulk of fighter the thread's about most vocal and outspoken haters?

And for your information, halfwit, I didn't just randomly bring up FMJ for no reason there was a thread on here yesterday where a couple of FMJ's halfwit fans (and it's them I was alluding to) were doing the exact thing I mentioned, which is likely the reason why the TS started this thread in the first place, so we could hear Golovkin's account of what happened during the final few days leading up to the Ouma fight.

That's crazy. Good on him for not cancelling the fight. GGG is a monster!

30 minutes before the fight? There are fighters that complain about jet lag after arriving 3-4 days before a fight.

I feel bad for anyone that gets stuck in the airport for that long.
