Im with ya brother. Aint laced em up in 10 yrs. Gonna be 42 sooner than I want to. But, I aint as good as I once was, but Im as good once, as I ever was.:yep:yep:yep
I hear ya, i'm 40 and now only do weights for looks, lol. I bet I couldn't go 2 real rounds with any halfway decebt MW,SMW or LW since I fluctuate between 180-200
I only sparred with a handful of decent pro's in my lifetime. JLC being the best by far. That was in my MUCH younger days. When I was a halfway decent AM at 140-160. Im well over 200 now (205-215), but not Fernando Vargas/Ricky Hatton 200+++. Still lean round the waist but hanging guardrail and packing I beams has kept me strong.:yep Still though.....I wouldnt last 30 seconds with a washed up Jeff Lacy much less a solid Tabiso Mchunu. Hell, I remember taking Castillo's left hooks upstairs and firing back right hands thru the guard. Being the bigger man,(even as a kid), I though I'd counter and slow his assault then show em who was boss, but, no sooner than I fired a right hand that momentarily stopped him, a L hook under my UNTUCKED R elbow took the last breathe of air from my lungs. I think back to that moment, and the subsequent sessions with Luis Ramirez, Jason Malone among others.........I don't think I could spar 2- 3 minute rounds with full headgear and body/groin protection with the likes of Paulie Malinaggi.:rofl:rofl:rofl
Antony Dirrell will stop Groves. If slow ass Froch was easily catching Grooves, Anthony won't can't miss Grooves with his hand speed.
