If he scores a clear stoppage over Stiverne, I think people should really give him some credit for it. Stiverne would be a good win for Deontay, if he pulls it off.

All I know is, this is a fight I can't miss.

He will be the #2 HW if he beats Stiverne in a convincing fashion, ahead of Pulev/Povetkin/etc etc.

    WBC Champion Wilder. :yep:yep

That has a good ring to it.

Wilder of course has a punchers chance, he has a deadly combination of speed, power and size. Question is that enough, because so far he's only shown this and nothing else.

Wilder hasn't proved he can box off the back foot. When he has been forced back he has looked very clumsy, just watch the Firtha fight he was all over the place with his back turned on the ropes, he's only effective when on the front foot to get leverage on his shots. His stamina and of course chin have to be questioned, what if this goes beyond 4 rounds?

Stiverne has really only proven he can beat Arreola which for any decent heavyweight really isn't that big of an achievement. But he has shown more skill and power at a higher level than Wilder. I think Stiverne exposes Wilder for what many have believed he is, a hype job. Stiverne isn't intimidated and takes the fight to Wilder and KO's him inside 5 rounds.

I also think that Stiverne will win, but I'm giving Wilder a fair chance.

Wilder is the bigger puncher, but Stiverne the better boxer.
If he can catch Stiverne of guard in the beginning stages of the fight, he should be able to knock him out. If Stiverne overcomes the hurricane at the beginning, he will have a fair chance of winning and is able to outbox Wilder.
If Wilder wins this one, he gains my respect!

If Wilder does win he clearly needs to be taken seriously. He'll have a title and finally have a legitimate win against a decent heavyweight.

While I will be rooting for Stiverne a Wilder win would probably be better for boxing. Might bring some interest into the division from casual US sports fans. As long as he doesn't try and duck Wlad then we could have another big and hyped heavyweight fight and one where Wlad may finally gets to impress the fans instead of what we got with the Haye and Povetkin debacles.

If he wins, he will take Stiverne's spot, which is #4 behind Wlad, Pulev and Povetkin.

Then soon enough he will face Povetkin in some of the mandatory fights if both guys keep winning.

If anything, we'll get to see just how good Wilders power is, I think Stiverne might be the most durable guy Wilder has fought so far?

I think Stiverne is the smarter fighter of the two and IF he can handle Wilders power, or take it away, and make it out of the first 4 rounds, then we'll see what Wilders really made of.

And this is where lack of experience can come into play.

Whats Wilder going to do in Round 6-7-8 etc, if hes unable to KO Stiverne and is being outboxed?

I believe Stiverne is also a better puncher.

Hes got some good, sneaky, decepitvely powerful counter punches.

Something Wilder could possibly walk onto

This. Imagine how hilarious it's gonna be when Stiverne lands a counter right like he dropped Arreola with on that glass jaw Wilder has.

Not sure Wilder will be able to sit down on his punches as much. Stiverne is a big puncher and a good counter puncher as well. That leaves a possible scenario where Wilder is NOT on the front foot as much. Wilder may not fight with his usual front foot confidence. If Wilder does fight with his usual aggression he will have a better chance for victory but also a better chance to be knocked out quickly.
If he fights on his back foot then he will have a much worse chance to win but will last longer.

Stiverne will destroy Wilder. Wilder has fought mostly tomato cans, and even his three "name" opponents were either a) never that good; b) washed up; or c) both.

In many years of following boxing, I have never seen a fighter get a top rating like this with a more padded record. Wilder is a fraud, and Stiverne is going to expose this.
