do you read the posts your replying to? The post you responded to has nothing to do with black eyes or anything of the sort.

    - Pac dropped cotto more then once, mayweather not at all... hmmmm
    - pac had cotto running in full out retreat, cotto came forward often in the championship rounds against floyd, despite getting punched by both.... hmmm why is that.

Now feel free to spin that as you see fit as im sure you will lol. If a 10 year old boy drops me multiple times, and has me running for dear life, while also making my face look like an abuse victim, while the 'pro fighter' doesnt... then ya maybe the kid hits harder

The critical thinking in this thread is abysmal.

And you thinking fighters have nothing to gain shows you dont see an obvious habit of pro fighters upping the opponents they do better against over the ones that dominate them. Whether conscious or unconscious it happens all the time and allows the fighters to show themselves or the public that they handled what had defeated them in even more abundance, hence vindicating their defeat. Its a common trait in champions and warriors.

But hey maybe all the clear evidence doesnt mean a thing and mayweather really hits that much noticeably harder.... i do think he hits heavier.

The post you quoted was not about damage. I dont give a **** about cottos face... the evidence of pacs power was the responses given to his punches... cotto getting dropped, cotto getting leveled on all fours, the obvious body language change that came with it, and the eventual decision by cotto to quit engaging and instead to run away from pac.

Cottos face was merely to point out how horrendous it was.

Hoya once compared vargas's power with mosleys... saying mosley had sharper power, power more prone to knock you down or out... but that vargas had a much heavier, stronger punch. I think it could be a bit of the same here. Maybe to the outside eye the sharp power will always appear greater but not always as simple as that and when in the ring the heavier hands still make an impression not translated well to the viewers.

Totally believable when you consider Pacquiao hit Cotto with over 100 more punches than Mayweather did WITH SMALLER GLOVES. Which could explain the difference in facial damage from the Pacquiao fight, as compared to the Mayweather fight, in which they wore bigger gloves via Cotto's request. You could also make the case that Mayweather and Cotto fought at a heavier weight, which is why Mayweather's punches felt harder. Either way it's Cotto's opinion, and we have to consider it valid and he stands to gain nothing by saying this.

very interesting, spar enough people around the same weight you learn to distinguish the punching power.. but iv always grouped people into 2 groups "normal punchers" and "THAT THUDDING PUNCH" where there hand feels so SOLID, it feels like its constantly hitting you like your bracing for it or running into it even when you are absorbing it to the best of your ability. i cant quite understand what hoya means when he says "sharper power"

cotto never said that it was in spanish this is fake common sense tells you this is trolling

one of the reasons why mayweather asked pac to test is because of just that his PUNCHING POWER!

Knocking down a boxer means **** if you can't finish them off. That's why Pacquiao lost to Marquez. How many times he dropped Marquez and can't take him out? Anyway, Floyd hits hard one punch but Pacquiao hits you with a series of shots and they range from average to strong to wtf was that kind of shot:yep

How is this being negative on pac? I said in my post that pac is still the boxer to do more damage due to his aggression. You guys just can't handle a sentence with Floyd if it has nothing negative to say about him.
