Wlad is already comparable to Liston or Holmes

It's a very long and distinguished reign that I see sailing on for a few years yet. That said, Pulev is going to be a good test and indicator of Wlad's greatness in the sport. I expect another dominant display.

    No contest.

    Holmes fought much higher level of competition fighting;

    -shavers
    -Snipes
    -Berbick
    -Norton
    -Cooney
    -Witherspoon
    -Mercer

    Vlad has fought only bums.

Prime Holmes whips the beets out of Vlad's ****** ass.

Agreed. Holmes and Wlad are a great parallel and have similar achievements, longevity, and even criticisms about the strength of their era.

The problem with Liston, beyond the mob ties and only one defense, is that he essentially quit training once he got the title. He should never rank higher than guys like Holmes and Wlad who were disciplined enough to give the title its due respect fight in, fight out. If it wasn't Ali, Sonny would've dropped it to someone else he "shouldn't have lost to" sooner rather than later.

He had a hell of a run to get to become champion, don't get me wrong. But defending the championship for years is significantly harder than getting there in the first place, and he should be ranked accordingly.

In a few years time or whatever, the statement that Wlad hasn't beaten any HOF's may be redundant, after some of his opponents are eligible (5 years after retirement).

I believe Byrd, Haye, Rahman, Brewster & Povetkin all stand a legitimate chance of being inducted at some point.

If so, it's only due to the lowering of induction standards.
None of those listed deserve to be HOFers.

The only way any of those guys get into the HOF is to buy an admission ticket. Haye might have to pay double. lol

There is still a higher chance of that happening than Liston and Holmes winning a gold medal.

Really? I personally feel that Byrd & Rahman especially have as much of a case to be in there as some of the current inductees.

I might have gone a bit too far with Brewster! but I also think David Haye will be recognised due to his accomplishments at CW, not to mention coming up to HW and having a couple of defences.

I feel Povetkin will be a force in the division for a few years yet and already has a nice few names on his CV.

Not even close. Holmes doesn't have any KO loses in his Prime. NONE.

No. We saw Wlad LOSE in the exact same fashion years later in the Brewster fight.

Sanders was semi-RETIRED from boxing and a professional golfer. Wlad couldn't manage to go TWO rounds with a guy who a 40 year old Holmes would have knocked out.

    LMMFAO.

Why was there no immediate rematch? Why did Wlad wait until Brewster had been out for over a year and coming back from EYE SURGERY to make this rematch?

There is nothing impressive about Wlad's "reign" - especially when you consider he had big brother to watch his back for most of that time.

    LOL.

Holmes was 48-0 before he lost a fight.

What was Wlad's record leading up to the Purrity fight?

I can envision no scenario by which Holmes loses to a semi-RETIRED from boxing pro golfer, not even one as skilled as Corrie Sanders, not when he is 37, not when he is 67.

Liston was avoided over years + very long delayed by racists
    media including Boxing Federation

a Prime Sonny Liston in late 60s / early 70s would
have a much better resume but his resume is
still good , he has the physical tools and skills to exist in any era

wlad tops liston in acheivements, but not in h2h, liston kills him in seconds.

    neither are close to holmes.
