    He's off his chump.

He'll give anyone a decent scrap and a tough night, but Mitchell is way better

Ricky Burns smokes him with ease
Derris good but domestic level, look what happened when he stepped up to euro level a step to far, good luck to him though the sports a better place with fighters like him in it

This is exactly the kinda match up we need Billy

    1) To see if Ricky can show he still has it at a decent level
2)To show if Derry really can step up or show he is really just domestic fringe Euro Level

to be fair Steve it's a mismatch with respect to Derry, if it happened I'd hope Derry gets very well paid because he'd earn every penny of it

IMO he's somewhere between domestic and European level, then again I'd say there are others at that level who've had world title shots this year so wouldn't say he doesn't deserve one

18 Months ago your point would be spot on Billy but where ricky is at now im afraid this is the level he needs to prove what hes got

I'm sure Ricky is aware he needs to prove himself but what you don't understand Steve is from two weight world champ to fringe domestic level is a huge step down and a fight between the two is a mismatch
Ricky v Mitchell or Anthony is more appropriate

Billy everybody thought Ricky and Zlat was a mismatch and look what happend there , the fall from grace is harsh mate but thats boxing and your only as good as ur last performance and judging the Lepalli fight in Leeds unfortunately thats where Ricky is at present

watch the fight with zakat closely he was very good don't get me wrong Ricky should have dealt with him
In his last fight he had a lot on his mind and could be excused for a poor performance

Don't make excuses Billy, he is a pro. Just admit he is going backwards.

I hear you but that issue on his mind has been there eversince the switch to matchroom , He needs a dramatic improvement and quickly at that to stay relevant even at the top of the domestic scene
