Id rather watch Daffy Duck than clinch master Pepe Le Pew. That kangaroo beats the **** out of both of them though.
Rubio was totally confused, he was hurt, it would have become dangerous for him if he continued. After laying there, it seemed like he woke up and realized he was in the middle of a fight. He would have managed to stand up before 10 if he wasn't hurt, and watch him touching his head after the ref waived off, first I thought he was complaining about a punch behind his head but he was just having a big headache. Also, he was still far away from standing at 10. I was disappointed because I wanted to see a longer fight, but how is this the worst count ever?
It was the worst count ever because a) he picked up the count at 4 (should've been three), and b) he rushed the count at 9, 10. Yes, the ref has the right to waive off the fight at anytime, and I'm not suggesting it was a bad stoppage, because, well, it wasn't a stoppage. Rubio was counted out. But the ref cannot skip numbers in the count, nor can he rush the count. Again, if you count from the moment Rubio hits the canvas, you'll see he would've been up at 8 on a legitimate count.
Someone in the RBR thread timed the count to 10 seconds flat. But the ref tricked Rubio sort of, had he kept his pace Rubio might have been up at ten and then the ref could have taken a second to look him over.
Rubio went down with 1:52 to go in the round, and got up with 1:42 to go in the round. The fight was stopped 1 second later. Quick count, but was a legit 10 seconds. FIGHT: [yt]bdgQB6TEn48[/yt]
We've had the Chisora vs Scott fight and the Matthysse vs Ortiz one lately in wich the ref skipped 8 and then went 9,10. And there have been many more in history, although it seems to be a trend at the moment. But like said, Rubio and also Ortiz didn't stand much of a chance against their opponent's power.
