Having success in the golden gloves USA these days means absolutely **** all and you know it. He was a poor amateur/ he has no amateur pedigree like Saunders, he never faced the best in the world or competed in top international tournamenrs, he couldn't even win a trial to the GB development squad

Is this the same BJS that struggled with Nick Blackwell. BJS has fought at a high level but its not that much higher so lets not get over excited.

Hmmm, it is quite a bit higher. From competing in the Olympics to the quality of opposition in the pro ranks, eg John Ryder and Blackwell, the competition has been of a much better quality than Eubank's opposition.

Eubank's last fight was against Siala who had a record of 23-17-3, the three before that had two or more losses on their respective records; BJS's last four fights have been against unbeaten opposition who came with good reputations. That's pretty strong evidence that there is wide disparity in terms of quality of opposition.

My point is its not one punch amazing power he has not done that to everybody he has faced.Eubank jr is not a scary puncher.Even that blown up welterweight on saturday who ashley theopane fought eight years ago showed that.Nick blackwell also says that he cant bang.

Benn was a much bigger favourite than BJS that's for sure.

Respect eubank sr normally but really think paternal love is clouding his judgement over his sons abilitys.

I don't think thats a fair comparison,really mate. Both Robinson and Hamed had beaten very good men before they fought. Saunders opposition has been well short of world class: Blandamura,Ryder and Bursak nowhere near top 10 men. But Eubank has beaten absolutely nobody in even european terms,maybe not even British. To me they're both unknown quantities,may or may not go on to really good things. But I find myself not seeing it as a mismatch. I could see Saunders getting a closish decision,no way stopping Eubank. Ive a feeling Chris is more durable than some Bill has outpointed,and a better puncher himself than say,Blandamura. At least as good a boxer as Ryder. What I do see as a mismatch was Froch/Groves 1. The 2nd fight confirmed it. Compare Frochs opposition to Groves,then add the fact that Froch is a dangerous puncher,which so far Billy has only showed flashes of.

 

Might I add that if this fight didn't take place,I wouldn't be at all surprised. Ditto the main event. If they both happen on the same night,Ill be delighted.
