It was a class above Morrison’s, which is not very difficult at world level.

Carnera met how many punchers who were not wearing handcuffs? Those that he did ko'd him.
Do you think Young Stribling would floor Morrison?
    How about Jack Sharkey?
    Leroy Haynes?
    Luigi Musina?

Carnera's chin was pure glass - by the admission of his own manager - who said Carnera routinely was dropped by sparring partners 100 lbs lighter than him by 'lightly tapping him on the chin'.

Does anyone here really think that Carnera would have escaped being put on the deck by Tommy Morrison? I mean, Carnera would have had his moments and for a while he woulld have utilized his big advantage in size and reach to outbox Tommy for stretches....but for one thing, Primo was NOT a puncher and his chin was made of....mnaybe not glass, but it sure wasn't made of anything substantial. Morrison would have landed something of a desperation shot at some time in a fight between the two and would have more than likely scored a sloppy tko over Da Preem.

I think Sharkey was a head case and took the paycheck in his title defense against Carnera. Maybe the punch was lucky and put him down, but he allowed himself to be put down and he wasn't all that eager to get up, what with Primo's underworld ties.

There was nothing lucky about the punch, it was a perfectly timed uppercut, that Sharkey didn’t see coming. What often gets overlooked in the talk about fixes, is that Sharkey was getting stuffed well before the fateful punch landed.

Morrison left hook KO. Carnera was just a circus freak, he had no skill and no chin. Most of his "wins" were mob fixes.
