Tyson would dump in the trashcan, while Bowe's hiding in it.

In fact, that actually happened in Brownsville in the summer of 1976.
    Stinky Mikey.

Mike wouldn't fight his "friend" from the hood either.

Actually that could possibly have happened. There's a video on youtube, very poor quality where Bowe says everyone used to call Tyson Bummy Ike at school because he was so poor.

and now Riddick, the joke is on you.

    Riddick Po', fo sho.

In fact i feel Bowe may have been slightly intimidated by Tyson.

he always seemed to revere or look up to Tyson and constantly mentions him.

There was that one statement where Bowe said, he used to cross the street to get away from Tyson when he saw him approaching.

Then there's the Ruddock weigh in where Riddick was cheering Mike on.

And of course the first Holyfield post fight interview where he says Thanks Mike for the inspriation come home soon.

you need to check out my recent Bowe threads. Byrd and Bowe were questioning Tysons legacy and asking who he actually beat

Bowe banked too much on his durability, it worked against Holyfield, but wouldn't work here.

A prime Mike takes some hard licks himself but he eventually decks Bowe with a left hook and finishes him off.

The Mike of the Ruddock fights when this was possible has to settle for a hard fought decision.

I've chosen Tyson in similar threads earlier, but I have changed my mind. I think the Bowe of the the first Holy fight beats any version of Tyson. That's primarily because he's so much better on the inside. Bowe wasn't one to stop fighting on the inside, which is how Tyson preferred it.

Douglas really messed with him by not always letting him rest on the inside, and Bowe would do that even more effectively. The short inside uppercuts that he wrecked Holy with in the 10th would be murder for Tyson with his short stature and squared stance on the inside.

I just don't think Tyson could hang with Bowe's accurate and persistent punching on every distance for 12 rds. And while there is the slight possibility that Tyson would stop him, I wouldn't bet on it. Golota hit a faded and out of shape Bowe with everything - EVERYTHING - and couldn't stop him. Bowe at the peak of his powers must have been one of the hardest HWs ever to stop.

If anyone could do it, it would be Tyson. But I wouldn't bet on it. And I don't see him winning a decision.

Unfortunately, despite their successes in the boxing world and the means and opportunity to put the ghetto mentality behind them, both of them come across as classless anti-social and spoiled individuals.
Both of them went to jail for abuse towards women. That kind of says it all.
The fact that they wasted all their money is neither here nor there.

    I dunno.
Bowe was a huge admirer and hanger-on of Holyfield too, but that didn't stop him kicking the sh1t of him.
Conversely, Bowe ridiculed Lewis and called him a fa*ggot etc.

there was a time where i gave Bowr the benefit of the doubt about the Lewis saga but looking back now i believe Bowr ducked Lewis.

i did a thread a few weeks back with an article from 91 92 which said Bowe and Newman already had plans of never facing Lewis and were instead looking to fight Foreman

Bowe is broke as a joke but Tyson can still do shows, films all sorts and still make a few bob.

there's levels of being broke, Tyson probably has a few thousand dollars, Bowe is social security/welfare kinda broke. And Tyson can still speak coherent English.

I have doubts Bowe would fight him. Bowe was carefully managed. Look at these ranked opponents that Bowe somehow missed out on.

    Lewis
    Tyson
    Foreman
    Holmes
    Morrison
    Moorer
    McCall
    Ruddock
    Mercer
    Bruno
    Douglas

    Gotta go with Tyson.

Are you smoking crack Tyson won the first round

he lost the next two but he put up a ok fight to start

Plus both those dudes could take a better shot then lewis plus bonecrusher clowned around a lot in that fight

Tyson still outlassed both of them

plus Tyson clowned around vs Bonecrusher

Also tony tucker had a great chin better than Lewis he is the only guy to go the distance with Lennox and tyson Dude had a great chin a very solid fighter

With Tysons speed and power and defense i feel it would be only a mater of time until he caught Lennox and put him to sleep

    1988 Tyson is invincible.

Tony Tubbs is a top 20 all-time heavyweight and only lasted 2 rounds with 1988 Tyson.
Michael Spinks is a p4p top 10 ATG and lasted just 91 seconds !
Larry Holmes is top 3 all-time heavyweight and lasted less than 4 rounds.

Nobody - nobody - could compete with a prime 1988 Tyson.
Even Pokémon Douglas would get done inside 5 rounds.

The only fighter in ALL OF HISTORY who would give 1988 Tyson a decent fight would be prime Sonny Liston, but Tyson would still win by KO because of his SPEED™. :deal

Heavyweight cp...you make an excellent point about Bowe leaning in and giving up height advantage.
It was the worst way to fight Mike.
You are gonna walk into an uppercut very soon.
To fight peak Mike...or even survive...you had to stand tall jab and move....Tucker did it to a degree...Ty Biggs did it for a round then started leaning in and was doomed...Tokyo Buster did it best. Not sure Bowe was that kind of fighter.....but he is very durable...couldve been a great scrap.

Tyson did **** all against Lewis and was already beaten by the end of the first round, if you think Tyson did well against Lewis at any point of the fight you're smoking something a hell of a lot stronger than crack!

Good post, Tyson never met a fighter with the size, power and inside abilities of Bowe. If Tyson doesn't get him out of there early, which I doubt he would then he's in for a very long night and would lose by late stoppage IMO.
