I already destroyed 2 posters to the point where one had to put me on an ignore list for his own well being, and you would be no different because you are weak.

Calzaghe decimated prime Hopkins in his own backyard with crippled hands, a weight issue and with corrupt judges/refs, he is unbeaten and destroyed everyone he faced, Hopkins fed on blown up WW's and only after Joe toyed with him did he start getting good wins against people his own size. Joe will always be superior.

I find it hard for anyone to consider Calzaghe anything higher than top 80-120 all time. His resume isn't as impressive as some are making it out to be. I personally had him beating Hopkins 8-4, but beating a 40 something year old Hopkins and Roy jones jr doesn't put him anywhere inside the top 75 IMO. I honestly don't think it'd be that hard to construct a list where there are 75 more worthy fighters compared to Joe C.

What really kills his legacy imo is that he stayed sequestered in England for pretty much his entire prime. It would've been nice to see how we would've fared against the top tier guys in his division in the late 90's/early 2000's.

A Hopkins win further cements his own legacy.
I don't think Calzaghe's will be enhanced too much.
Joe had a chance, getting rocked by the ghost of RJ pretty much sums it up.

The blown up, bloated, broken handed half motivated Calzaghe fighting in Hopkins backyard at his best weight won 9 rounds with a corrupt ref and judges. Unfortunately Joe was avoided throughout his career but everytime a top fighter stepped up Joe manhandled them.

Joe's closest fight was with a broken hand against a highly motivated Robin Reid and he won that convincingly too. There has been a blue print to beat Mayweather a few times but Joe is truly the only fighter of which there is no blueprint, beating slickters, counter punchers, offensive fighters, speedsters, he has beat every style of fighter there is and Hopkins career is really more a continuation of Calzaghes legacy.

The classic because fighter a beat fighter b and fighter b beat c, fighter a gets credit for beating fighter c. In that case....

Mayweather beat Mosley, who beat margarito, who beat Martinez, who beat pavlik, who beat Taylor, who beat hopkins, who beat jones, who beat Ruiz, who beat Holyfield, who beat tyson.

Damn mayweather must be a certified #1. Starts off at 130 and can beat a hw. Impressive stuff right there.

Again, he refused a rematch, which goes against him in my opinion.

Beat a prime Roy LOOOOL. He knew, including the rest, that RJJ was on another planet at his prime. He could have gone to the states much earlier, but didn't. Other UK fighters have gone the US route to increase their profile, Benn was a great example, as is Froch.

Cal - Coulda, Shoulda but DIDN'T.

Hopkins never beat Jones, so no. (Calzaghe did, though :think)

The fact that a **** fight against a 43 years old man ending up in a SD counts as a great win tells more about how remarkable Hopkins is than it tells us much about Calzaghe. Still, every accomplishment by Hopkins will keep bringing some honour to Mr 46-0.

Calzaghe has a win over undefeated Kessler and Eubank as well as the Hopkins win, which in my opinion is better than anything Hopkins has
