Marcos Maidana vs Victor Ortiz This fight was amazing, one of the best since the 2000's. This was a showcase fight for Ortiz, who was being hyped as The next "Golden boy" and future Superstar of boxing versus some unknown argentinian that was expected to get steamrolled which nearly happened in the opening round. That's when the fun truly started and the fight became a back and forth rollercoaster of action. The post fight interview with Ortiz was also memorable too. Thoughts and reflections on this fight? Yeah this fight was crazy. I was bewildered by how Ortiz seemed like he could beat the count but just quit. Little did I know this was the first of many times he'd quit in his fights.
Agreed. If there was ever a fight that defined a fighters ring personality it was this one, as we saw later on in his career. I do adore watching Ortiz though win or lose just because he has that 'unknown' factor about him. His other Modern Classic is his fight with Andre Berto, that was a brilliantly entertaining fight too that showed he had heart but then the next fight was against Mayweather and things have gown downhill for him since then.
Yeah. I hate to admit it but I was a fan I still think the guy has the goods but he doesn't have the mental toughness required to be an elite fighter.
Maidana is totally oposed to the modern boxers profile. He is not fast, he is flat footed, he does not move his head, however he's got something that none of this "true" champions have, passion, will power, humility and a pair of balls. This is enough to be a good boxer regardless he lost or not and everyone can see that he is not afraid to fight anyone, even Mayweather. Maidana is great and a true champion.
you mean Thurman priced himself out ? and he isn't even a name to the casuals. man you the chino ONLY because Floyd bet him AND everyone that has worked with both pac and chino say chino is a WAY harder puncher and would annihilate paca chin
