Because the excuse was that Hopkins was old and shot, but all his best wins have come after Joe. So instead of it being a great win against a shot ATG, it's proven to be an unbelievable win against a Prime peaked ATG, thus improving his own legacy.

    1. In America
    2. Joe " worst ref since Richard Steele " Cortez
    3. 3 paid off Golden Boy judges
    4. Maybe a little of Roach's vitamins that James Toney and pacmam take.

Look at all Calzaghe had to overcome.

just wondering if you actually scored the fight, and if you did, did you really have it close ? did you score it 3 separate times and come up with a close SD ?

that was not really a close fight for people who know how to score fights. know whats a scoring blow and what isn't.

not wicked wide dec but easily 8/4 win for a bloated ready to retire super joe. he really didn't even want to waste his time fighting jones but money always talks unless you're pac then al the money in the world isn't worth it

I never claimed to be a undefeated boxer. You are thinking of AngloSaxon. I'm a boxing historian with years and years of research. I have forgotten more about boxing than you will ever know.....

Froch is the anti- Calzaghe, because he loses. Calzaghe is Ray Robinson to Froch's Micky Ward.:deal

Hopkins was old, not completely shot and not prime either.

I don't think you can call Calzaghe's SD win 'unbelievable'. Unbelievable would be beating the brakes off of Hopkins. Putting him on his ass a number of times, KO or TKOing him. Not a boring SD where the only blow of consequence was a Hopkins headbutt.

Aaaannnd do you really think that his best wins came after the Calzaghe fight? Pavlik, Pascal and (old shot) Jones...?

Hopkins string of wins look good in part because of his advancing age in a sport where he should be retired for years now, not because the Murats of the world are ATGs.

Let Calzaghe's record stand on it's own for whatever it's worth. He gets some minor props for beating Hopkins years ago but he doesn't vault up the ATG rankings because someone he narrowly outpointed is still performing at a high level.

I didn't score it, but when I watched it live I thought Calzaghe won. It wasn't a blowout or a vicious thrashing.

I don't disagree that Calzaghe won, but I don't think that Hopkins continued success does much to enhance his opponents legacies.

He's nothing but a mongoloid. Check out his thread about Hopkins accomplishing absolutely nothing in his entire career and Kovalev is the first serious test.
