I'm surprised they didn't go ahead with a discounted fee?
Plenty of rumours before this announcement that given the negative feedback, they may consider a cheaper price.

I agree with Adam Booth's comments, this card doesn't really need to happen in one night...could have been split over three or four normal Sky cards.

PPV is a necessary evi,l I guess but this isn't how you use it. Sky customers deserve much better value for money. It'll do poor numbers.

And hopefully it does do poor numbers. The fans are getting shafted big time on this one.

Sky's prices are a ****-take as it is, let alone doing something like this. Then add in that idiot Eddie's 'It's the biggest fight in the division!' - Er, Kovalev/Stevenson ring any bells?

Whilst Eddie is talking bollocks Kovalev and Stevenson aren't in the same division as Bellew and Clev.

ah well wasn't going to buy it, best bits will be on sky sports a week after the fight

Then again they may see sense like with Khan and take it off PPV, would really use this hype for putting it on sky sports and giving the likes of degale, Joshua, quigg and McDonnell more exposure

    Even then it isn't.

Huck/Ola, Huck/Hernandez are all bigger fights.

    Exactly.

If this broke the 5k barrier in terms of that many people buying it I'd be flabbergasted.

As a boxing fan we all have our own favourites and types of matches we want to see. However, whilst being intrigued by a Bellew v Cleverly, I'm not really that interested and certainly won't be afterwards as we all know their limitations. I looked through the rest of the card last night and I think 1/7 (Degale) is the best price you can get on any of the favourites in the other matches.

There is nothing on that card with the exception of a good domestic dust up to get the juices flowing. £16.95 is not a great deal of money to most and it's not even principle. This is just a long card rather than a good one and it shouldn't be PPV. I would love for Eddie Hearn to explain how this card is 'stacked' or how it subscribes to his mantle of being a 50/50 promoter

Don't have a massive issue with the PPV concept per se, fine with them doing it for the last 3 froch fights but it's a pisstake when it's this fight, Khan mckloskey or groves/degale and cleverly/bellew I, as I said before use this as a sky sports fight, hype it up to help promote a few of the others who in a few fights time could be PPV worthy e.g groves degale, joshua for a title, quigg frampton etc

People were saying all the exact things bout froch groves 1. It doesn't matter who is fighting, casuals will still buy it as long as it is hyped to the max by sky. Casuals love a heated rivalry. They can put whatever fight they want on ppv. The only people who won't buy it are the people who go on the forums. Bellew and cleverly will probably have a fight of the year and there will be crazy demand for a rematch hahaha. Hearn probably has it written in their contracts they havta go to war hahaha

Stop moaning about it, if you don't want to watch it then don't pay for it! its simple, but you don't have to come on here every 10 minutes to complain about it because regardless of what you lot want to say it wont change anything. I bet all of you have said the same thing on a different thread before so why bother posting it again? Surely you can find something better to do?

The point of this thread is because I was surprised they have charged the full rate as opposed to a cheaper price as many thought might happen.

On a separate note though, you are missing the point re this event. It is more than "you don't want it, don't pay for it". I have no issue with PPV when it is used for the big events....but does this mean we have to pay more whenever there is decent domestic fight to be made (+ poor, one-sided undercard)? Horrible precedent set.
