Paul Williams can be mentioned too. However, when Mayweather fought Baldomir, Williams was still only rising and was also on his undercard. At that time, Williams barely had a single major victory to be considered.

Concreto was nothing but a joke back then. His biggest win was Andrew "Six Heads Zero Chins" Lewis and offered nothing but hype. No one in their right mind would honestly consider Concreto a better opponent for Mayweather at the time than De La Hoya at 154.

It's easy to type in random names, but it's not really easy to know what was happening back then when barely any of the posters nowadays existed at the time.

Manny Pacquiao is the only name he openly turned down and brought up a thousand excuses to avoid. That, I'm in full agreement with and won't even argue otherwise. Even if I do argue, it will be 99% pro Pacquiao. Remember, I've been a fan of both since 2003.

How many times a year did you expect him to fight? He fought hatton, odlh, Mosley , jmm, Judah during his 140-147 career. Notice these are all big names and money fights. If he wouldn't have fought odlh to fight Margo, then you idiots would just be blabing about how he ducked odlh and Manny did fight him.

Just looking for a way to hype up your congress man pac, and its obviously sad when you are using a proven cheat in Margo to do it. You guys do pac a discredit .

Yet his is still considered "Great." The man is simply one of the greatest talents this sport has ever produced.

And he's put it on display nearly 50 times across 5 weight classes against many champions without a loss. So, what you should be saying if anything is that he never dared to be the GREATEST.

He won't rank above Ali, Ray Robinson, Leonard or Duran, etc. But, he will rank among them, which is still a great accomplishment. I have no doubt he will be ranked in the top 50.

Oh and the fight was offered to Pac 2 times and he basically refused both times. It's not quite that cut and dry. But, Manny balked and fought a lesser opponent both times. Margarito was never anything great. His best win was a fight he allegedly used casts in his gloves. Winky was too big for Shane...let alone Floyd. There was no need for this fight to take place.

    He didnt duck winky.

 @the false info that gets put out on a daily basis around here.

    From Gary Shaw;

It's back to the drawing board for St. Petersburg's Winky Wright as negotiations to fight 140-pound champion Floyd Mayweather fell apart Thursday morning at a meeting in Las Vegas.

"As of right now, it's no deal - they changed the money on me at the last second," said promoter Gary Shaw, who said he was close to finalizing the fight when he walked into Top Rank and Bob Arum's office Thursday.

But within seconds, he said, the deal evaporated.

"I walked in, I told him: "I believe we have a deal,' " Shaw said. "And Bob said, "so it's a deal - 55-45 (money split)'.

"I said, "Bob, that was never, ever discussed, no deal' and that was that."

While Shaw said he agreed with just about all of the demands from the Mayweather team, principally regarding weight, he doesn't think the Detroit fighter, aformer Olympian, was behind the breakdown.

"I think it's Arum," Shaw said. "When Floyd normally calls someone out, he's serious about fighting them."

Didnt duck Marg or Pwill either. When were those fights viable? Give me time frames because people like to spit out nonsense without actually observing the data.

Out of the guys you named that he could have legit fought that would have meant something was Pacquiao & Wright. Pac because he he took the P4P slot when Floyd retired and Wright because Mayweather jumping from 140 to 154 to fight a MW would be huge.

Forrest by the time Mayweather got to WW was at JMW and coming off recent losses to Mayorga, Mayweather ended up fighting the #1 JMW in Oscar.

Margarito is/was a bum who has 1 notable win in his career Mayweather ended up fighting the real champ in Baldomir who will end up higher all time than Tony.

You would of have a better argument if you said guys like Casamayor, Freitas, Ksytzu. My question is why do people give Mayweather flack for fights that didn't happen blaming it all on him when most of the names they bring up at various times are on record saying they didn't want to fight him.
