    According to SHO's Espinoza:

"Absolutely, I haven't heard anything from him other than May 2nd as the date that he wants to fight."

Mayweather has clearly established himself as the pay-per-view king the past few years. Does he stay on this date?

"It's hard to argue with his historical performance, particularly over the last year where he held up in a very busy pay-per-view landscape better than anyone else in the industry".

"So I think he's got a very, very strong claim on that [that date]. Ultimately, the pay-per-view distributors are the ones who've got to decide and I hope it doesn't come down to some sort of head-to-head battle."

"But I know what Floyd wants [May 2] and he's pretty set on it." said Espinoza.

Don't see an available opponent that can match canelo cotto. Unless Goldenboy just concedes the date to keep there relationship with mayweather.

Heard all this before on how BIG Cotto v Martinez was going to be. It flopped. How about Canelo v Angulo? :rofl What forum analysts think v what people will pay to watch is quite different.

As much as Canelo would like to think he's on Mayweather's level, the powers that be know better and if Mayweather wants to fight on May 2nd, he will fight on May 2nd and Canelo be dammed.

im going to call it right ****ing now this is what floyd does to beat canelo cotto

    wait for it..

HE CONVINCES ****** BIEBER THAT HIS TALENTED ENOUGH TO BEAT AN AVERAGE PRO BOXER and gets him to fight one on his undercard

THINK ABOUT IT!? WHO DOES THE WHOLE WORLD HATE? ****** BIEBER

WHO WOULD LOVE TO SEE BIEBERS FACE CAVED IN? EVERYONE!

would you pay to see it? YES YOU WOULD

floyd is going to throw bieber under a bus by convincing him the training he has recieved from floyd and others is enough to get him past a pro boxer

    its marketing genius

And? Everyone in the forum said it would easily do 1M, even I did. It flopped. There is no way HBO or SHO will go head to head. They will lose PPV buys at a time when PPV numbers are dwindling. That's a dumb move.

HBO don't have emotional ties like the haters here. They're waiting on what Floyd/SHO will do. Until then Cotto v Canelo on May 2nd is not official.

its def an option but speaking financially here would cotto make more money facing canelo ? because both would split the cash 50 50 you would assume and it will do good numbers unlike floyds numbers which have been on a steady decline since they last fought

PPV numers have been declining even for the top 2: Floyd and Manny. Still, they both outsell Cotto and Canelo. The public remembers Canelo as the robot who was schooled by Floyd and Cotto as the guy who lost to Manny and Floyd. I'm still not convinced matching up Canelo v Cotto is going to be that big of a deal.

if cotto fights canelo that weekend, im positive floyd will find some bull**** reason to tell his gullible fans why he would rather fight on some other date instead.
