Two great left hookers...I would guess Lausse. I think stylistically he would get under Fernandez, who would at times fight very upright. Lausse in a war KO10.
Lausse and Rocky Rivero would have been a war too.

Fernandez is my favourite left hooker but as you say very upright and always seemed to be looking for the single punch rather put the hook in a combo.
Also lausse had less KO losses.
Gene Fullmer found out how tough Fernandez was though

    Absolutely.
Both of them are two of my favorites:good. Strangely enough, this hypothetical could go the distance...and for what it is worth, I think Fernandez between the two had the harder left hook!

Lausse actually decked one of my favorite all time guys...Gene Fullmer...and Fernandez broke Gene's elbow in their fight..again, I would have loved to have seen this one...

Fullmer was also familiar with Lausse's work!

Hard to say. These are the two guys I picked in a recent "pound for pound puncher's" thread. I guess I see Fernandez take it. Wouldn't shock me in the least to see it the other way around though.

I think Lausse was far better and more importantly for this matchup more durable. Lausse stops him.
