Haymon has been canceling better fights than he's making.

    Stevenson v Kovalev...nuff said.

and now v GGG or Froch, because Top Rank will not want to give Jr a big fight now to go out on. You're completely wrong.

Look, this is all part of Haymon's plan to create his own empire on NBC thanks to a nearly finalized $20 million deal that he is trying to con the network to believe will lead to a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight on primetime TV. More power to him if he isn't full of it, but he track record isn't good when it comes to actually delivering on promise.

    From the article:

Like I just said in the other thread, those 'promoter-controls'my-career' days are dying.

I can't see the Froch fight happening now, it seems further and further away. Haymon serves up rubbish fights, he's hardly going to put one of his 'cash cows' in with someone who is a favourite to beat him.

Doubt it. Jr will probably in litigation with Arum until Froch has retired. Just cos he signed with Haymon doesn't mean his TR contract has somehow become null and void.

Same rules apply. Arum's still the promoter and he still ain't gonna throw big paydays at a fighter he has even less power over than before. Only quick way out is for Jr to buy his contract out, but I wouldn't expect Arum to be selling cheap.

    Both fighters are mediocre .

But I would back Chavez Jr to beat Quillin

    Depending on the weight though...

So its better for a manager to control a career? Its not like Haymon fighters have control of their destiny. They work for Al. Sometimes Al does great things for a fighter, sometimes they languish, sometimes they get big fights sometimes they get shelved...

Honestly seems a lot like working for a promoter.

Well it seems one big difference is that regardless of how the relationship is characterized, guys with Al seem happier with that arrangement, as evidenced by the number of guys who have tried to leave him in recent times vs promotional companies like Top Rank.

    Jr. had 2 options.

The deal that came with the extension was very lucrative. He was going to get paid a lot if he signed an extension.

The other deal was to take less money without the extension. He would have been free to leave Top Rank if he accepted less money for the fight. He rejected both offers.

They want to make people believe that Arum was trying to strong-arm him, but that's far from the truth. Arum gave him 2 options and he didn't want either. Chavez Jr. is a spoiled brat, nothing less, nothing more. I hope he likes sitting on the shelf and getting fat.
