Post 17 answered your question mate.

Are you asking what is Kovalev superior / inferior to when compared to Superpimp?

Fonfara is a few levels above Caparello IMO. Anyway styles make fights and I think Kovalev's style is more suitable for Hopkins than Stevenson's style.

Speed + movement. Hopkins' kryptonite. He needs stationary targets.

I'm basing this off watching a Superpimp fight now.

Southpaw, good mover has nice jab and isnt afraid to use it. Works of the jab more, not as in love with his power asa Kovalev.

Hopkins sees Kovalev as the least proven, because he is. Adonis destroyed Dawson which might also have concerned Hopkins a bit.

Kovalev is also more upright doesnt have as good head movement. Hopkins thinks he is easier to hit no doubt.

    Let the best man win
If Kovalev can't beat up Hopkins, then he needs to retire
    and forget the hype
I think a 168 lb. GGG is more dangerous

Stevenson's best wins are Dawson, who was coming off a loss to Ward, and Cloud, who was coming off a loss to Hopkins, and received a gift decision against Campillo.

Stevenson's not as in love with his power as Kovalev? Did you see the Fonfara fight?

hops saw nothing except he is almost 50 and losing in any fashion does nothing to his legacy, that is the ONLY reason he took this match.

if he makes it competitive for a couple rounds that's bonus and smg he can hold his hat on.

win win for hops no matter what happens,
lose lose for kov no matter what happens

Yeah but would have to watch it again and I'm currently only watching Hopkins / Kov hype

Kovalev is just more of a single minded head hunter. He can come across as only going for the KO. Hopkins probably thinks Kov will fall to pieces late on because he isnt as proven. I think Hopkins knows full well this is a dangerous fight.

Kov is also the cleaner fighter compared to Adonis. Something thats in Bhops favour.

Mainly though its the southpaw and movement issue I think.

As above the real reason behind Hop choosing this fight is in post 17 of this thread.

At the start of round one Hopkins needs to tell Kovalev he has banged Kathy.

that's a possibility and would the a loss for hops in many ways.

I never like hops much but I do hope he makes it out with his mind still somewhat intact
