As good as Kovalev did tonight, I can't see him timing or keping away Roy on his best night.

Roy's head is too small for Kovalev to find it. Roy by KO in the mid rounds.

Jones gets Savagely KOed. Roy had one of the worst Chins on a rated fighter. He can't take a punch without crumbling to the canvas.

    Everyone was so ****y--even Hop
De la Hoya needed a nightcap-he was so in awe
Hop was lost for words and barely complimented the man that owned him

RJJ is the greatest fighter in ANY H2H fight. Besides, Roy would've toyed with him.

    Kov impressed me last night.

He was very patient and stuck to a game plan.

    He was very composed.

But he's very hittable, and it's clear that speed bothers him.

I'll take Roy on a UD all day.

RJJ was not as quick in light heavy weight as he was in his early career. Kovalev showed excellent footwork and eye against Hopkins. RJJ was actually rather lazy in his output. He looked busy against even lazier guys like Hopkins/Toney, but very bad with someone like Calzaghe. Kovalev has much better boxing fundamentals and technique than RJJ ever had and I'd be betting him to utilize that and win by points. It would be very unlikely for Kov to be able to land flush at young RJJ because of Junior's reflexes so KO is not a potential outcome.

Anyone says Kovalev needs to get their head out of their ass. Prime Roy beats everyone.

I'm a Roy fan, and hardly anybody ever gets overrated in fantasy matchups as he does. It's about as bad as Ali where the myth outruns the man now.

Roy's a hell of a matchup problem, but I don't know why it's getting construed as an insult that a patient boxer puncher with timing, skill, and one punch power may just knock him out.

Roy was still like lightening in his LHW days, pre Ruiz.

Roy didn't need a high out put.

He was content to coast for the most part.

The Calzaghe example has no relevance at all here.

Kov beating Roy on points, is the least likely scenario to have happened.

Roy would have feinted him, and Kov's output would have been very low.

Bernard caught him a few times last night. Roy wouldn't have had any trouble finding him in his late 20's.
