He stood toe 2 toe with one of the biggest punches in the sport in the last round without holding or running or faking a injury he took it.
what are you talking about he was forced to take the beating in the 12 round he never fought toe 2 toe in round 12 he was surviving and running I don't remember him firing back.
Yep I admit I thought he would of tried to con a way out through injury but he didn't Kovalev was very superior to Hopkins on the night
He didn't stand toe to toe but he didn't quit or have the judges and referee in his pocket like so many on this forum suggested prior to the fight. It was quite frankly disgusting how many people were slandering Hopkins prior to the fight. Twisting facts to suit their agenda or opinion so they would have an excuse in case Kovalev lost. It was pathetic and tarnished the build up to the fight, I haven't ever seen so many whiny bitches talking ****.
Agree 100% Bernard did his best Kovalev was just too strong. These jerks that whined & cried are just bandwagoners . If Bernard had won youd be knee deep in tears:|:|:| Not one of them is man enough to apologize to Bernard. Oh Btw the way had some great times in Brighton Spent the night under the Palace pier with a gorgeous French mam'selle many years ago. Memories lol
He didn't stand toe to toe, that's dickriding, in fact if he stood toe to toe he wouldn't have gone past 5th round.
Yeah, "toe to toe" is rather over the top, but Hopkins showed part of why he has been so successful for so long - he's one tough SOB with a solid chin who comes in in tip top condition every time.
Maximum respect to Bhop for fighting a ferocious prime boxer in Kov. Some people on this site are a bunch of gutless cowards bad mouthing Bhop. I bet most are much younger than Bhop and would probably **** their pants facing Kov, let alone Bhop. Happy Kov won and now he can unify the division.
Come on, it wasn't just like a couple of haters wanted to make him look bad at a forum, there was genuine concern that he might ruin the big night what was supposed to be a celebration for boxing that way because of his antics in the past. Great it didn't happen that way. Media, websites, pundits all came up with the same concern, not just a couple of forum posters. Hopkins has a history of exaggerate or faking lowblows and injuries, comitting to fauling and such when he's been in trouble, and it's pretty logical that people respond to that. And toe to toe, please!
talkin sense here. its not like people created this completely false image of hopkins as a drama queen... the guy has history. im glad he didnt resort to any of that nonsense, but it sure as hell wouldnt have surprised me if he had. when you think about it, hes getting all these props for acting like a professional, things you just naturally expect from all other fighters, he gets extra credit, though.
