He fought Canelo because it was low risk high reward ..He knew exactly what he was fighting and. Maidana really he made him wear pillows in his next fight and Maidana had no business in the ring with Floyd !!

Ok - for my lack of understanding please explain why you considered canelo as being low risk to Floyd (the reward side is a given), and then explain - with similar logic - what Kovalev was to Hopkins.

Can anyone tell me what choice Hopkins had other than to fight Kovalev who'm I'm sure HBO pushed for?

Hopkins fought Kovalev because not only was it for unification, but it also was for more money than any other fight out there for him.

As long as Mayweather keeps getting paid the millions that Showtime pays him he's going to keep fighting 2nd tier fighters like Maidana, Hopkins cant draw flies to a **** party and so he does'nt have the options Mayweather has.

 

Floyd has no balls never has never will.

 

Maidana was already badly exposed against Alexandra etc.. Kovalev was KO'ing guys left and right with almost zero problems.there is huge difference between Maidana and Kovalev.

As Floyd usually says,the blueprint was there with Maidana.

FACT remains,Maidana has fought 3times against top WW and is 0-3 in those fights.and if we count that Khan is now WW.then he is 0-4. Maidana is good but not elite.
