And BREAK George Foremans record for oldest HW Champion ever.

I think now that the political situation in Ukraine is calming, and Vitali is squarely rooted in a position of political "clout" sotosay, he can focus on a camp, and Wilder, unlike Stiverne would be an easy fight for the aging brother Klitschko.

When he first suffered his back injury training for Rahman, the constant misdiagnosis of his injuries frustrated him and gave up his title. He made a short run at Mayor of Kiev, failed, and recovered from his back injury, came back and dominated the WBC for 5 yrs.

I would NOT rule out a comeback if Stiverne is KOd vs Wilder.

    Reasons being.....

Vitali did NOT want to pay Don King in any way b/c King tried to rob the K2 when they first started out.

Stiverne, while not the most power, toughest fight out there, is actually a solid overall fighter, and would have been a tough 12 rd fight for Vitali, similar to Chisora.

Not saying Vitali ducked him, but with the shoulder injuries continuing, and the political unrest in Ukraine......it was just too large a burden to prepare for a multifaceted opponent.

If Wilder wins, the US will have their first HW Champion since Shannon Briggs stopped Liakovich in 05.

Such a name would bring HUGE money for Don Vito, the kind of $$$$$ that Vitali couldnt possibly look away from, especially now that his injuries have had adequate time to heal, and the political situation in Ukraine is stabilizing.:think:think:think:think

    Thoughts???????

Nah, Vitali is done. He was slowing down considerably, Has damaged most parts of his body and would really just be in everybody´s way. Beating one trick pony Wilder would not prove much either. You never know though. But I do hope he just calls it a day.

Isn't Vitali retired? Then he doesn't have his emeritus status anymore.
Anyway he can't come back. The only one fighter he could beat nowadays is Wildest, that will get exposed by Stiverne anyway.

He has exactly 0 chances to beat that record. Those aren't the '90s anymore. He would be facing opponents bigger than him, and he already showed slowing down and had all kind of physical injuries.

Also i don't know what you think he's doing, but he's busier than he have ever been.

Ukraine is a mess, and he spends all his time in political things. Do you remember how badly out of shape Shwarzenegger became as soon as he got elected? And he's one that loves to work out. He simply couldn't. And nothing ever happens in ****ing California.

The Ukraine is under the attack and heel of Putin. Just because they aren't fighting does not mean things are well. Vitali is needed more than ever as one of the last honest politicians in the nation.

Could it happen? Sure. It would be the prefect time for Vitali to get press and bring attention on What Putin and his cronies are doing to his homeland.

    I hope it happens.

He starts every day in the gym before going to work as a mayor.
I'm sure a comeback is still an option for him.

If anything, this only makes you age faster, and he has a history of injuries. Lifting weights can only worsen that.
And he has too much going on in Ukraine. He won't come back. And it's better he won't, because he would lose badly.

You gain emeritus status WHEN you retire.

That being said, he is done.

If he did want to fight on, I think he would be better making old guy fights against the guys he never got in the ring...Rahman, Maskaev, Tony, etc.

Vitali hasn't fought in years and he took so much time off from training during the Ukraine unrest.

His boxing career is done. If he comes back, he won't be the same. He best stay retired and enjoy his new career.
