I need to see a bit more of Kovalev. If he's durable enough, I'd pick him as his power would be too great for Foster to deal with for 12 rounds.
Too early to say. Kovalev fought a good, smart fight on Saturday, but despite what Bernard said after the fight, his age was probably an issue. We need to see more of Kov against better opponents to make a reasonable guess.
Kovalov is very big for the weight, and I thought he fought an excellent fight. I think there were two occasions in the fight where Hopkins was able to slightly hurt Kovalov...with that said, I would lean towards Foster.
As others have said, Kovalev is way too untested to be compared to a top five all time member of the 175 division. Right now, I have to say a Foster KO.
Depends on what you criteria is. For me, his dominance of the division, coupled with H2H ability gets him in the top five. I'd be curious to know who you have ahead of him. I don't think a strong case could be made for anyone other than Moore, Charles, Tunney, Langford, and maybe Conn.
Although Kovalev fought an excellent fight on Sat, he was rocked in the 12th by an almost 50 year old feather fisted Hopkins so what the hell do you thinks gonna happen when Foster lands?
It's a little early for Kovalev....but as it stands now, what do you really think would be the result? Foster ko Kovalev 4 or 7 Foster ko Hopkins 8 or 10 Foster ko Jones Jr 5 or 6.......and on and on it goes.
