Huge respect for Hopkins lasting the full 12. Think opponents will think twice about taunting kovalev now after what he's done to both cleverly and Bhop for trying to taunt him.

 

That would have happened much earlier if Hopkins was foolish enough to engage.

 

There is one comment from RJJ 20 seconds before the end - ''He has to put everything he has in one last right hand'' How stupid is that Hop is almost out on his feet.

They are jokes, did they give kovalev any credit at all during that fight?
even the boxnation commentators were bad enough, praising bhop but not kovalev. jokers.

 

Bhop's a crafty dude but he was hanging on in there through sheer guts rather as doing his usual spoiling. The old man is a legend.

I don't think anyone criticizes B-Hop for what happened in the 12th. IMO, it's the 11 rounds leading up to it that's the problem.

There's room for both: respect for the 12th round heart AND disappointment for no real viable Plan B in the first 11 rounds.

Commentary was spot on, it was a stupid play and if bhop had power he would have caught the silly Russian

Hopkins got what was coming to him and I am glad he stood upright, so that he could get the **** kicked out of him some more. :happy

+1. Kudos to old BHop! He knew what he was doing and knew well it will **** Kovalev off and punishment will follow. Yet he still did it to the fans! Great stuff from Hopkins! (and I am not even a fan)

 

Great head movement by Hopkins. Not one clean shot landed on his chin. all partially blocked or landing high on the head. Totally relaxed.
No beating here. Kovalevs power over rated.
