I think that history has shown plenty of examples of smaller fighters intimidating much bigger ones.

If a guy has a reputation of being a wrecking machine, it doesn't matter if you are 6' 4'' and have big biceps.

Well every old-time, pre-penicillin fighter fought most their fights with STDs.
I think Tyson even said it was a throwback thing.

Tunney, chaste as he was, was one of the few exceptions.

Dempsey, of course, was constantly blighted with an STD and had to dip his d*ck in mercury-based anti-sceptic solutions every half an hour, which is why he liked to get finished quick and back to the dressing room.

I don't hold any of this against them.

I don't hold it against Tyson, i just don't think you could call his attitude to training and clean leaving professional. Certainly not before the Berbick, Douglas or Tillis.

I think Tyson always saw himself as a tragic figure bound to destruct sooner or later, his own words were he wanted to live it up as much as possible as he didnt see himself even reaching the age of 40

Yeah, it's a really wonderful thing to see him now, all but pulled together.

It all goes back to Cus teachings.

Tyson said Fear is like fire, you can use it to do your cooking, or you can burn your house down with it.

Tyson said he gave oral to a prostitute in some girls toilets once,

The amount of funny business this guy got up to, i'm surprised he didn't end up like Morrison

And of course they didn't have HIV in Dempsey's day. They didn't need none of that sh!t, no AIDS, no steroids, no "anti-depressants", (not even during the Great Depression). They were real men in them days.
    Honest-to-goodness, draft-dodging, color-line-drawing MEN. :good

Tyson only ever showed frustration in fights where he had to chase the opponent and his opponents werent playing ball.

Against Dempsey there will be no frustration.

Yeah, I think the same. More or less.

He did seem to get upset about Holyfield's rough stuff though, when Holyfield wasn't exactly avoiding him. I wonder how Tyson would cope with Dempsey's rough stuff. Tyson had issues with being up against a fighter as dirty as himself, it baffled and perhaps frightened him.

Even with him it's debatable! Didn't he once get sued for breach of promise?

So, we are pitting a 1997 Tyson against a 1927 Dempsey or 1919 Dempsey? You can't have your cake and eat it, too

And I don't think Bill Brennan lasts 90 seconds against Tyson, let alone 12 rounds.

I don't care either way. Pit whoever you want against whatever version of whoever, it's up to you.

I was saying : Tyson had a severe problem with Holyfield's dirty tactics, it's hard to say whether he would have been as sensitive about it in his prime or not. I think not but he might still have been effected by it mentally, since he also showed some signs of being a sensitive and frustrated by things.
    It's a minor point, btw.
