Bernard Hopkins: “Am I going to fight again? That’s like asking a woman after an hour of labor to have another kid…I was trying to turn things around, until the end. Even in the last round until the bell rang…I couldn’t overpower him. Bernard Hopkins: “Am I going to fight again? Oscar said he felt like a fighter who'd turned pro at lightweight against one who'd turned pro at light-heavyweight when he fought B-Hop.

Fair assessment, Kovalev is a big LHW. Too big too young too hungry too good.

He turned pro at 133 but dropped down to super-feather to win his first title.

Actually, B-Hop turned pro at cruiserweight.

B-Hop said he starved himself for 12 years to fight down in lower divisions.

This has more to do with his age and the opponent than the actual size. He physically did not have problems with Tarver and Pascal who both were big as the Russian.

This is true with the exception of Tarver.

Hopkins is a warrior. He took the fight and tried his best for 12 rounds, despite being outclassed and outgunned. I refuse to throw him under the bus for taking the fight (unlike the "other" LHW champ who wouldn't) and taking the loss like a man. Love him or hate him, he at least manned up.

Let's see if Adonis decides to do it any time soon.

There was definitely a strength disparity. If you look at Hopkins body in his last few fights and compared to how he looked against Tarver and Calzaghe you can clearly see he's lost some muscle mass which is to be expected for a man who is almost 50.

His biggest problem wasn't Kovalev's superior strength but his movement.
