This. Floyd and Pacquiao WILL NOT fight each other as long as they are making guaranteed 20+ million paydays against weaker fighters.

Yes,it's not the level of Garcia-Salka definetly.

And Kovalev was relatively big favourite still against Hopkins,Algieri is huge underdog.so i don't think it's comparable.

And the fight against Provodnikov could easily have gone to Provo also.and, yes Bradley fight was also close.but you know that in boxing 1+1 doesn't mean 2.

It was 1st time for Algieri to step up against top 10opponent at 140pounds,Pac is 147pound belt holder.one win against top 10opponent in different weigthclass shouldn't earn you a opportunity against longtime top 5 P4P fighter on PPV.

That just my honest opinion.Algieri could turn out great, but he should prove himself more, especially when 140-147 are full of talent.and have more proven fighters than Algieri.

I don't consider this a PPV caliber fight.Pacquaio is PPV caliber, but the opponent is not.atleast not yet.

Yes,Algieri deserves the opportunity.then when he is more proven and is locked top 3-5 at 140-147.

Right now,Algieri just entered top 10 at 140pounds,and it's not enough to earn shot on Pacquaio.maybe someone like Garcia,Mathysse,Brook etc.. Could be okay at this point for Algieri.

I just don't like that top fighters earns ridiculous amount of money, fighting against relatively unproven fighters.that only engourages these top dogs to fight against fringe contenders.because the money is there still.

If Pac would have got offer, say like 5mil for Algieri.then he would have thinked it twice, and probably would have declined.and wanted to face bigger name.and more proven fighter.

I'm not against the fight mostly,i'm against the ridiculous money Pac will get fighting against relatively unproven fighter.it's just wrong for boxing in general.

Top fights should earn you top dollar, not fighting fringe top 10 fighter.

And i think,it could push Pac to fight against big names/proven fighters.

I respect Pac,and i want to see him compete against best.especially now, when his career is almost over.yes,he is locked top 50 ATG.and don't need to prove himself anymore.but when we have special talent like him.i want to see him fight against Bradley,Marquez,Cotto of world everytime.

Options are of course limited because of politics in boxing, and greedy promoters..
But still we can say something should change, and that we don't accept this bull**** what is happening.

If we just agree, that this is good match and Pac deserves top money for this.nothing will ever change for better..Arum,Floyd etc.. All are snakes, and find out this is acceptable and continue to do that forever.

    :good

Biggest reason, why the fight hasn't happened yet.you give both 4-5 mil for fighting Algieri and Maidanas of world.and this fight would happen instantly,we would probably see rematch.maybe even trilogy.

This fight will do low numbers. I am a Pac & Algeri fan but i see this fight doing sub 600. Unfortunately Manny has been matched with a B class fighter in Algeri like Mayweather did with Maidana. Not to bring Mayweathers name into a bad light but as a comparison of opposition, i think both fighters would have done similar numbers if they both had an ordinary card.

I see Pacquiao winning easily...sadly, i see Arum trying to milk a rematch out of it too.

I can't help but to think Arum is just feeding these cherrypick fights to the Chinese people. Why didn't Bradley fight pac in china? just Rios & chris, 2 fights pac is promised to win.

Hard to say where the truth lies.both parties has their own share of ****** comments about it.

I'm not picking sides,i just honestly think.biggest reason was and still is that both make huge money and don't really need the fight.and they are jealous of each others.Floyd maybe little more,he doesn't accept 50-50 deal.he is maybe slightly bigger draw in overall.but in this particular match,it should be 50-50.

I don't really believe either fighter is ducking, their egos are just too big.

But i can understand why many believe Floyd is ducking.however,i also undestand why some believe Pac is ducking.

It's only speculating,Arum says stadium needs to build, cut won't heal etc..
Floyd says Manny you are next"don't put words in my mouth" etc..

But to Pac defence however,i think it would happen right now.if Floyd would accept 50-50 deal, but Floyd ego is too big to accept that.maybe then it's called ducking?i don't know.

Just my two cents about this.i could be wrong,as all the others who haven't been sitting in the table with both parties.when the negotiations were on.

I just try to judge both neutrally.

After 9/14/13 a 60-40 split will be Floyd's 2nd highest purse, unless the PPV cost $100 or is selling 3 million PPVs. For a Pacquiao fight, he isn't going lower than what he made with Canelo. So at this time, IMO, Floyd won't accept 60-40. Maybe 70-30 or even 75-25. Shouldn't be a problem since Pacquiao claims he'll take whatever offer, right?

Pac had been saying he would take less of a cut before Floyd even called him. When Floyd called pac is quoted as saying "pipty pipty" & handed the phone to kocz. Michael also confirmed that ppv's were never discussed & conversation ended because Floyd was not going to budge for 50/50.

I blame both pac & Floyd for not making the fight, but when we have been close to making it, it was pac who bailed on it. In 09, 50/50 was agreed upon and also pac's penalty demands. Yet pac made a fuss about ped testing that athletes all over the world (even younger girls) take.

Then to make it worse, he sues Floyd because he got his feelings hurt. This had to create bad blood between both & made the gb/top rank war even worse. Its boxing, **** talking is handled in the ring not in court.

Then with the Floyd offer, pac just straight up refused to budge off 50/50 & never called Floyd back.

Please, a *******.. tell me when was the last time Top Rank/Pac made a attempt to make the fight happen? these *******s always blame floyds & GB attempts to make the fight but they completely avoid the fact that manny has been slacking off on his part. Saying you will fight some one on tv & also accept less is meaning less when you say it outside of negotiations. Negotiations is the time & place to talk about details of the fight, not on espn. Fights are signed behind closed doors, not on espn interview.

Interesting numbers.hard to top that Canelo fight, since i think Pac fight would generate about 3mil buys.maybe :think

Hope this greedines ends some day.i actually understand both parties, and why they are reluctant to make the fight happen.

Floyd wants to top the Canelo payday, and Pac also want to earn his biggest payday.could be close with 75-25 offer even.but it would be unfair for Pac.he deserves atleast 40.

Hate when boxing turns to numbers, politics and money.

But glad that there are still intelligent people around.who don't pick sides,or atleast understand both sides.

I think there is no need to talk this subject anymore, atleast we two are quite close the truth.or atleast on the right track :good
