Wlad is so underrated and if he was an American, he'd be considered the best thing since sliced Bread

in 49 fights Marciano best wins were over past prime guys and 3 of them Walcott, Louis, and Moore were damn near 40 or over 40

Sure he was exciting, yea he was humble, he knocked guys out but he fought in an era just as average or less formidable than Wlads.....all the world champions he beat started at lower weights, besides Lewis....Hell Moore and Charles started at middleweight

Lets get real though....Klitschko has had a better title reign....has more beaten more top ten contenders and showed his mettle by coming back 3 times from disaster...he should get more credit

Wlad is ridiculously underrated. The guy is the second longest reigning dominant heavyweight of all time. The guy is ranked 3 in Ring Magazines pound for pound rankings, unheard of for a heavyweight champ. This is a U.S. Based publication not noted for being kind to European fighters. They have that running coward ***** Stevenson ahead of Kovalov. Marciano was a decent heavyweight champ who gets credit for having an unbeaten record that has never been equaled. But, yeah Wlad is light years ahead of him talent and accomplishment wise. I like them both for their professional and humble demeanour both in and out of the ring.

Apart from other reasons, I think a lot of the underrating has to do with the fact that he still is an active boxer. After he hangs up the gloves his career with be looked at in a more objective historical context. Many guys don't get the credit when they are still boxing.

A good example of this is Lennox Lewis. During his career Lewis was widely disliked, widely discredited, not a ppv draw, thought of as a boring/limited fighter with a glass jaw who rode the coattails of an aging Tyson. His 4 year reign as the n.1 HW in the world(1999-2003) represented a decline in popularity in HW boxing in the US. During this time period if one had suggested Lewis was a top 15-20 HW they would be laughed at but look 10 years on and he is now considered a consensus top 5 ATG.

Barring any string of late career losses, I am 100% certain that WK in a decades time will be a consensus top 5 ATG.

boxing is dead in america for the most part, comparing it to back then is a disservice. its a miracle a guy like mayweather makes what he does compared to who he fights.... its soooo dead here that mayweather is the best thing they can market. by default.
when he is gone, you will see how bad it really is.....thank god for boxnation, sky sports ringside, bunce, and the UK fighters that i can tune in to

pretty damn accurate, tho wlad didn't become an elite fighter until he got an elite trainer. rocky would be competing at lhw no a days

please explain how is is "so bad", if you don't know what you're seeing in the ring that doesn't mean its dead.

we have many of the best fighters ever in certain weight categories. man some people are so stuck in the past its ridiculous. everything evolves, boxing isn't immune to that fact

He had been in the ring mags top ten for 4 consecutive years(twice being the n.1 contender) before working with Steward.

    Different eras...

    Marciano > Wladimir

Marciano's highs were higher than Wladimir's and his lows were nowhere near as bad as Wladimir's.
