Mad day today, Spikes kiss was hilarious thought fitzer was going to explode. Shame about pajo's fight. Why is Macklin 7-1 with some bookies, really not giving him a fair crack.
Is the weigh in Friday in Temple bar or 3arena does anyone know what time, really looking forward to it, should be a great night of boxing and hopefully Mack does the job.

When is Phil Sutcliffe in action again, he needs to be kept active?

 

Im getting excited about our prospects coming up right now and the fighters currently established. The coming years can only bring some big nights of boxing for Irish boxing fans. The talent we have for such a small nation in the pro's is crazy.


We've got the experienced fighters, the European level fighters, the world fringe contenders and proper contenders and champions in:

Jamie Conlan
Carl Frampton
Patrick Hyland
Marco Mccullough
Stephen Ormond
Andy Lee
Matthew Macklin (if you want to claim him of course)
Dennis Hogan


Then we have the blue chip prospects, the guys we can expect to do something right up to European or even world level if they can continue to develop:

Declan Geraghty
Philip Sutcliffe
Jason Quigley
Conrad Cummings
Tommy McCarthy


And then the prospect who aren't really blue chip level, but still could go on to do something in the pro game in:

Ive probably missed out on some other good prospects, but ive not seen enough of them in action to know how good they are.

In particular we seem to be producing lots of 160lbers these days. Real domestic, irish born and bred middleweights. Much more so than in the past when it was mostly the lighter weights, from feather down. I suppose this is just a reflection of kids being bigger these days in general. Hope these new lads, keeler, Cummings, quigley, replace Macklin and Lee ..the current crop,at high level, when then Macklin and Lee retire.

Of the 3 home-grown middleweight prospects, how do ye rate them?
I know it's early days yet, and nothing is carved in stone, but how do people on here rate keeler quigley and Cummings?

Time moves on and we soon won't have Macklin and Lee around any more....
