If that's what he was offered then I'm not surprised he wasn't paid. Chagaev's purse would have been higher and so I doubt the promoter made any money, he probably lost money.

He cared enough to ask him to come(begged is the world Oquendos promoter used) and the contract was signed. It shouldnt be a matter of getting it up front. Once the contract is signed, he is legally entitled to every penny.
