After the showing that Kovalev displayed where he proved that he is more than just a puncher/brawler what are some other fights that you can think of where the supposedly one-dimensional brawler actually uses technical skills to beat the supposedly superior boxer?

I think it depends on what you mean by brawler and by outboxed. Did the brawler turn the fight into a brawl and beat the boxer, or did the brawler fight on the backfoot and outpointed the boxer.

I can also think of brawlers who fought smart and cut off the ring. I can think of offensive fighters who baited the counter puncher and countered the counter. Depends on what you are thinking.

Michalczewski was no brawler either cos he never liked going inside much, he picked them aparted from semi-distance, by a combination of hard snapping jabs and hooks. Not every forwards moving guy has to be a brawler, or at least that's up to definition.

    Barerra against Hamed

Maybe Hopkins vs Tito. Hopkins was seen as a rough, dirty inside fighter, Tito the boxer puncher yet Hopkins put on a clinic.

Stylistically Mayorga actually was a brawler but outboxed Forrest in their rematch. Everyone thought Vernon was a guaranteed P4P boxer after the Mosley wins and HBO gave him a big contract only for the Nicaraguan brawler to out guile him with refined street fighting. Boxing is great.

barrera was way more technically sound then naz ever was? he was always a boxer puncher with one of the best killer instincts in the game but he was no brawler? id go as far as to say hamed was the brawler with his wild leaping hooks and constantly off balance antics relying on his incredible natural power

    agree to disagree i suppose

No Pryor was a fighter not a brawler.

For me a brawler is a face first swinger who cannot hit straight.

Pryor had great skills , probably the best jab at 140 ever.
