But Ward has to know what time it is and that means Kovalev is the A side and it takes place at 175.

Any Ward fan that b*tches about it needs to remember the weight that Ward won his Gold medal. There are no excuses for him to not fight Kovalev at 175 now that Kovalev legitimized himself by dominating Bhop. Yes he is old but he was never dominated so thoroughly. I think it's a 60/40 fight in favour of Kovalev.

I like Ward, but it's so frustrating.

    His career is stagnating.

He just needs to fight anyone ASAP.

He needs to make a decision.

I don't think he's interested in a Kessler fight and he's not going to fight Froch again.

Unless he's going to wait a while to see how the likes of Degale do, there's nothing left for him at SMW.

I thought a few years ago, that he'd already be at LHW by now.

He has spoke before about fighting a HW one day, at the end of his career.

If he was to fight Kovalev, I think he'd need two fights first. One more at SMW, then a test the water fight at LHW.

But I think a fight against Stevenson might be easier for him.

A fight with GGG seems pointless to me. Because he wouldn't get any credit for beating him if he did.

Wow! Great post. You are on point with everything. I'm not hating on Ward... I just want to see him fight someone. He said before his last fight that he wanted legacy fights and that he would fight Bhop IF Bhop called him out... so why not fight rhe guy who convincingly beat Bhop?

    I agree.

He's either got to commit to staying at SMW, or he's got to move.

Admittedly, I don't know anything about his court case with Goosen, but he's just got to fight to stay active.

I know he's the one fighting, and not me, but surely he can have a ten rounder against someone?

He's going to regret this period in his career when he hangs them up.

He's almost 31, and he's only fought twice in the last three years.

I still favor Ward in this one. Ward should've moved up to 175 at the start of 2013.

I guess Muhammad Ali was deceiving and conning the public when he didn't fight at Light Heavyweight due to his amateur career, right?. Idiot.

Kovalev smashes his glass. but in all honesty if kovalev moves to CW in the future, what excuse does ward have off fighting 7lbs above his weight class. none.

    A pretty asinine post, Scar.

Ali fought at HW because he grew into HW after the Olympics in 1960.
In other word, he moved UP, as many do.

Ward won his Olympic Gold at LHW (178 lbs in the amateurs) but chose to move DOWN for his pro career.

He doesn't have to fight at 175, but the earlier poster's point was that he could do so without entering new territory.

Besides, there's nothing much left for him to do at 168.

He has more-or-less cleaned out the weight. If he wants more challenge, it's at 175.

He falls off the rankings lists next week due to inactivity. He's fought two fight in the past three years.

He needs to fight somebody before irrelevancy sets in.

    Ward is a small SMW.

LHW in the ams starts under the pro SMW limit at 165lbs.

It would be crazy fror him to fight Krusher for his first fight a light heavy.

    Stupid Wardo's!

When will they come up with one for Kovalev? Kovtards is too easy and does not roll of the tonge. how about Kovalosers, that sort of works.
