Nah, if you don't follow it there is really no point. :yep

I've been making fighter profile threads for years. (http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=242850)

I think before this one the last woman I found worthy of a thread was Braekhus herself.

So I've got the p4p #1 and (maybe) #2 covered...maybe at some point I'll do one for Susi K or Y-Bop or something, but after them not many are really worth knowing about. :!:

I do thorough research and am a very quick learner, even though I don't follow it closely they do deserve some exposure on the site. I might do one here and there, if I get started, my OCD might kick in, and I'll go overboard.

Anybody else male that you want me to do a thread on, lately I've been taking requests via PM.

:goodI'll have it up soon, I just got back from a week long ban, are there any parameters I have to follow, because she has a lot of hot semi nude pics, and I don't feel like getting banned again.

    Persoon vs. Morelli II:

    • [yt]V8l3n1m3uxg[/yt]

(Persoon has the red waistband and the slightly darker braids)

She is basically only ever in really high quality fights.

Elena Reid, just for the sheer fact that she broke & knocked out 3 of my teeth years ago in Colorado...:patsch

If CST80 does get banned for the pics, I will gladly accept his ban on my account; he is too valuable of a poster to lose, so I will take one for the team, sort of speak...!!!

A couple of women's boxing notes from tonight:

Amanda Serrano, possible future unification opponent for Persoon at 135lbs, beat Carla Torres via TKO1 in a non-title bout, improving to 22-1-1 (27).

Ava "Lady of Boxing" Knight returned from a thirteen month layoff since her loss to WBC light flyweight champion Ibeth Zamora Silva, and beat Guadalupe Martinez in the co-main event of the Carlos Cuadras vs. Marvin Mabait card. It also marked her return to flyweight, a division in which she is undefeated (her only loss prior to Zamora Silva coming up at super flyweight, also in a WBC title bid, to Ana Maria Torres) and where she has some excellent wins in Reid, West, Mucino, and Juarez. If she remains at 112lbs she could be another entrant in the p4p top five.

It is defintely not good. He had several eye injuries and went to chirurgy several times. His former trainer (Renald De Vulder) begged him to stop, but a new manager said he still could make it to the top. Ever since, Jackson was dropped frequently by lightweights in sparring, has no balance at all. My brother wanted to get a signature of him, but he couldn't grab the pen to sign anything. Terrible to see. :-(

To be honest, I didn't even know Jean Sneyers and Gustave Roth. But I asked it to my father recently, and he told me that our family actually knew Roth and that he could call him 'uncle' as a kid :D My father also stated that he was the only (male) world champion Belgium ever had, so I think I was wrong about saying we had no male champions.

De Kerpel en Coopman are the more famous ones. I have the biopgraphy of De Kerpel. There was a movie 'Camping Cosmos' in 1999, and the director of the movie was planning to have a fight scheduled between Coopman and De Kerpel. Both men agreed and appeared to be in shape for this bout. They even called it the fight of the century in Belgium

They didn't trade heavy blows because nobody wanted to win by KO, so they scored the bout a draw. You can find this fight on Youtube ;)

Yeah I really should. I saw fights between Maskaev and Williams and that was terrible. But they are women boxing, that is the same for me as women soccer. Both are terrible, but if I have no other plans, I should definitely see here once :tired

    :scaredas:

Who is the new trainer/manager? Boxrec only lists Renald DeVulder.

He fought just last March. When did the problems start?

Well it depends. You were right, but your dad is also right, depending on how you look at it. The IBU title can either be viewed as legitimate or not. (it later evolved into the modern European Boxing Union title, not to be confused with the European title which did exist back then, but as of then it was considered a "world" title, although viewed beneath the real, lineal title...kind of like the equivalent of the WBF or IBO today...or, you could argue, more like the WBO or IBF, depending on how much legitimacy you want to grant it...)

So you could make a case for Gustave Roth or Delfine Persoon being the first true Belgian world champion.

Wow, I'll have to check that out. :yep

So it wasn't like Hill vs. Maske II where there was enmity (and actual bad blood shed) between them?

Did you watch it yet? :)

I'm definitely going to catch Persoon's next defense if there is television coverage for it.
