    It has to be psychological.

But if we're to believe he'd have handled Ali etc, he should be beating most of his comp with absolute ease, and looking great in the process.

You make it sound like Muhammad walked through everybody with ease his whole career.

how can you consider the Margo fight a top win, when it was for a vacant title, at a catchweight, in a weight class neither were ranked in?

Margo got blitzed by Shane not too long before....that 8th title **** is garbage...at least beat a contender claim a title

    Of course not.

But my posts are directed to those guys who think that Wlad is this unbeatable force, that would easily have been the greats of the past.

This is why I think he's overrated.

But if that's true, why isn't he destroying his current competition in devastating fashion?

He hasn't been beating great fighters.

His hardcore fans completely dismiss his losses, and claim he is now a completely different fighter, who's at the top of his game.

So why are we seeing ultra cautious, laboured wins against the likes of Povetkin etc?

I'm not seeing a guy who'd easily have beaten Ali and Tyson etc.

    Are you?

I meant the performance, not the so called achievement.

I agree he should never be classed as an 8 time champ.

The fight shouldn't have been sanctioned as a title fight.

    It was a farce.

much like some fighters before him...its more the size disparity that amazes some people than the actual skills of the opponent

personally I was never very high on Margarito...He is a walking punching bag...great chin, loads of heart, and stamina but rudimentary talent and skills

Nobody has come close to beating him in over a decade. A DECADE.

    I know.

    But who's he been fighting?

    He's had some good wins.

    Again, he does deserve credit.

But could you honestly put that ten year unbeaten run up as an argument for how he'd easily have handled a peak Ali, and a peak Tyson etc?

I'm obviously not saying that you have mode those claims.

But do you agree with them?

When you watch Wlad beating Pov etc, can you envisage him beating the greats of the past with ease?

    Ali outpoints Wlad

Wlad vs Liston is 50/50...damn this is tough...either Wlad by clear dec. or Liston by mid round ko

Wlad bloodies batters and stops Marciano...I don't think he would be able to withstand the jabs and rights working his way in...ALso Wlad would tire him with grabbing and pulling him down inside....terrible match up for the ROCK

Damn another toughy....today im picking Frazier...His defense is very underrated and Wlad doesn't have the raw power of George or speed and saavy of Ali...once he got smoking, Wlad gets stopped more so from exhaustion than being ktfo

Foreman would get thoroughly outboxed...Wlad had the better jab, defense, and actually stamina too...he gets past the early scare and its a win on points and if Foreman is worn enough he could possibly get stopped....Lesser punchers have hurt, stopped, or dropped George

Bowe is an enigma to me...on his best night he looks like an ATG, on his worst night he looks horrible....I don't think Bowe would be able to deal with the jab, smarts and the total package...made his bones beating Holyfield whom he dwarfed got outboxed by a foul king in Golota....Wlad wins the outside battle and BoWE wins inside...I believe Bowe will take longer to adjust than Wlad.....Wlad by clear dec.

Tyson kos Wlad by round 5...he doesn't counterpunch, move his head...depends to much on grabbing and will be exerting himself a lot holding off Tyson

Lennox Lewis wins a dec...he will take enough chances necessary to win on points...both could get dropped in an unexpected classic

Holyfield showed he could hang with the behemoths...his counterpunching and combinations are head and shoulders above everyone except Joe Louis plus he is physically stronger....He'd pick up enough points to work em over of late stoppage

Louis battered huge heavy's...Wlad would be no different and wouldn't be busy enough to win enough rounds and at any given time Louis could land a fight ending combo....Louis mid fight kayo

one thing is for sure he would be competitive with them all and beat a few on their best days

He is taller than Tyson, and we can't say who would between him and either Klitschko, win, but if you underrate Marciano you are a fool.
