Baldimor regardless of titles was by far one of the worst WW in the division and beating Judah just proved that he was no better when Maragrito was calling him out ..And Hopkins doesn't get a pass but at least he dared to be great and at 49 you have to give him respect ..He never took a 2 yr vacation to avoid guys in his own division..Floyd on the other hand sure did ..

hopkins has the same level of wins as mayweather, the difference between the two is that hopkins took the tougher challenges consistently throughout his career.

mayweather has too many what ifs when talking about his record.

Floyd has his accomplishments that are impressive .

Yet His legacy still doesn't come close to B hops .

What an absolute gem of a thread.

PBF is streets ahead of old man Hopkins. PBF has thrashed big punchers with a combination of clever boxing, guile, and skill. Hopkins has fuddled his way to some minor wins via clinching, wrestling, and headbutting.

It was telling that a novice with a Glass Jaw such as Kovalev was able to use the Calzaghe blueprint and dart in and out, peppering Hopkins' gormless chops with vicious hooks. The 12th round was an utterly sadistic beating. Hopkins' head resembled a soggy haggis being pummelled with a sledgehammer. It should have been stopped but for a bent ref who kept breaking the action.:barf:verysad

Respect to Team Elite for once again recognizing irrefutable facts.

Easy on the posting qualifications though or else we'll quickly end up with an empty forum...:D

Both could be running for 50 wins and age 50.

    But Mayweather deserves praise.

Exactly. Winky was a LMW who was fighting at LHW.
I notice that nobody is actually able to answer that question because great fighters like Oscar were not effective at MW

DLH was not any good at mw. He really should of lost both of his fights in that weight class
RJJ? You count that as a good win?
Johnson was a green contender when they fought
    Mosley was waay past prime
    Hatton was just okay

I would give Mayweather the edge over competiton beaten
But he also came up short a number of times Taylor x2, Dawson x2., Calzaghe, and Kovalev
It will hurt both of their legacies if that fight never happoens

Mayweather should be ranked higher seeing as how he has fought more naturally bigger opponents.

Hopkins will be remembered by boxing fans better than Mayweather.
