Let me see: Pulev is crying and whining like a ***** before the fight. PED testing, press conference, Wlad's gloves. Wah wah wah! Gets in the ring, gets knocked down within 60 seconds. Then proceeds to hit the floor another 3 times before getting brutally destroyed and made look like a complete amateur. He deserves zero respect. :deal
I said before the fight Pulev wouldn't land a single meaningful shot on Wlad and once again it turned out to be correct. Wlad anticipates the long shots (from the outside) and moves backward, removing momentum from the shots. Pulev was way too slow to catch Wlad off guard. Nothing he threw landed flush with full power. The last time Wlad was hit with long hands from the outside was 12 years ago in the Sanders fight which is testament to Sanders' handspeed. If you want to catch Wlad you need to throw hooks and crosses, both of which Pulev can't throw. Let's be honest We all saw Pulev struggle with 50 year old Thompson, limited clown Ustinov and scared-as-**** Dimitrenko. How on earth was he going to 'test' Wlad?
I said for years Pulev has a glass chin and easy to cut skin. WLad beat up another Euro bum big ****ing deal.
Catching as in 'grazing his face'? Or catching as in 'landing with full force'? I didn't see anything that impressed Wlad. Wlad has a very very soft chin, if he was caught flush he'd wobble and be on ***** street. I didn't observe any of that.
oh please, his defense was crap so he ate full blooded flush shots from wlad ON HIS CHIN, what do you think was going to happen ffs
And Wlad has an iron back of the head. He must of absorbed no less than 15 rabbit punches. Ref Weeks warned and then warned he'd warn again. Didn't matter. Wlad's left hook left hook took care of business.
He could have just tried the bullrushing tactics Povetkin style, or just come to survive. You would have complained massively in that case, in fact I am sure you were scathing of previous Klitschko opponents for just that. He actually had a strategy to try to get Wlad out of there, from mid range, which is a very dangerous tactic. In the end Pulev didn't have the physical tools, having a good jab is just not enough. How do you beat Wlad if you are smaller, slower, have less power and don't have the Tyson like weaving and bobbing skills?
We know two ways to beat Wlad thus far: The Sanders 'early blitz with fast hands'. Or the Brewster 'war of attrition'. You're right, Pulev lacks the handspeed for the former. And he clearly lacked the grit for the latter. Remember Brewster was knocked down once or twice by Wlad before knocking the **** out of him. Pulev lacked the heart and chin for that.
That's right, getting knocked down after being hit with huge shots from, one of the biggest punchers in heavyweight history means you have a glass jaw.
