Since that fight Wlad has learned to pace himself, and be more patient with his energy. I can see Corrie having some success like Pulev did tonight but I think Corrie would be knocked out.
If I was Klitschko's trainer I would try to avoid Sanders if at all possible. Sanders IMO is the most underrated heavyweight that I can think of. His left handed stance, hand speed and eye-hand coordination were things I wouldn't want to deal with. Klitschko may be better suited to beat Sanders now because Klitschko is no longer a front runner and he definitely learned the value of the clinch from the Sanders fight.
The gifted counter puncher / HW southpaw GOAT / one of the hardest punchers ever Corrie Sanders would lose to this Klitschko, no doubt
plus 1 Sanders = completely wrong style for wlad, even though I believe Wlad - with the experience of the defeat - would fare better vs corrie second time around.
As a Wlad fan, I must admit that Sanders was by far the hardest opponent for every version of Wlad, wrong style and he had some advantages there. Corrie had better speed and was a very hard hitting, tall southpaw. That's why he did that no one could repeat to date - he didn't outlast Wlad like Ross and Lamon did, but won by early ko. If today's Wlad fought Sanders, I think he would've clinched him for the first 5-6 rounds as Sanders is very dangerous opponent with superior handspeed, and once Sanders had tired, Wlad would've taken the advantage. The key to success for Wlad would be clinching in early rounds and being extremely cautious.
Good post and correct imo, sanders (the sanders of 2003 i mean) would be most dangerous very early on, so klitschko would need to zap the strength out of him by clinching and leaning on him and stalling time and focus on defense though i wouldnt be a guarantee for survival. Once/provided wlad makes it to the middle rounds I see him taking control of the fight and stopping sanders late.
