I say Wilder is the best puncher in terms of raw power

Wlad is the best in terms of placing his punches and making his power feel harder than it is because of how he places his punches. He gets the target he aims for, he throws with mean intentions when he wants to.

But usually he does not, that's why he's called Wlad the Octo***** or WALDO. When he does not fight like an Octopus, he's fun to watch.

Some of you greatly underrate Lennox Lewis's power. That's not to say Wladimir can't do serious damage to a primarily stationary target, but Lewis could have laid Kubrat out cold just as brutally.

Lewis would have capitalized on Pulev's lack of defense and nonexistent head movement. I could honestly see him stopping Pulev within 3 rounds. See the Lewis-Rahman II fight if you doubt his single shot power or tactical adjustment. No way Pulev's chin would carry him through four with Lennox.

Not a fair comparison. Pulev was still a hugely awkward southpaw. Even with little head movement, he was still a southpaw with strange arm movement that made his arms and gloves clip power shots. He gave strange angles.

Pulev is not a southpaw. He's orthodox.

I agree, it's not really a fair comparison. It's not a knock against Wlad that his actual ko of Pulev doesn't measure up to Lennox Lewis's hypothetical KO of Pulev.

That's completely out of context. However, I'll go ahead and state that it's also a bit premature to assume that another HW who possesses ATG power would not be able to destroy a stationary target (a guy who puts his arms out and his chin in the air whenever shots are thrown at him). History reveals that Lewis would have recognized those mistakes early.

And once again, Pulev is not a southpaw.

Vlad is a top heavyweight period. I really enjoyed his fight tonight.

Some on this board believe that Wilder is the greatest heavyweight in boxing history. Well................Vlad beat Wilder from one side of the ring to the other while sparring for the Wach fight, knocked him down with a jab. Vlad will knock Wilder out........................if Stiverne doesn't beat him to it. If Vitali hadn't retired, Vitali would have already knocked Stiverne and Wilder out. Some claim that Wilder's opponents are the best in the world................shows a lot of ignorance................

History revealed tonight that Wlad recognized those mistakes not early, but immediately. This manifested itself by him knocking Pulev down twice within basically the first two minutes of the fight.

If you think that Lewis would have knocked out pulev 60 seconds faster than Wlad, who am I to tell you differently? There's 500lbs of muscle in the ring throwing haye makers at each other.

Could Lennox have ko'd Pulev in 4? It's possible. Did Wlad ko Pulev in 5? Absolutely.

I think you are a bit hyper defensive. That's on you though.

My point is, Lennox had devastating power himself -- how long he'd actually take to stop Pulev is an afterthought here. You all are rating punchers and Lewis appears to be getting underrated in that particular regard. As they say, boxing really is a "what have you done for me lately" sport and Lewis has long since retired.

To be fair, a fighter's defensive prowess and chin have much to do with how badly they react to being hit flush as well. Despite there still being questions about Pulev's chin, I expected Wlad to stop him based on styles. I would have also expected a Prime Lewis to do the same.
