I'd have to pick Golota. Golota was a seriously impressive HW who could have taken Bowe to the cleaners twice, had he not insanely decided to start using Bowe's nuts as a pinball machine.

Sanders was WBU champion (I know ... but still) and when his big chance came vs Wlad he grabbed it with both hands, even though he was practically retired. He DID make good.

Sanders was not one dimensional. People say that because his money shot was his deadly left counter, but he had an arsenal of other punches, such as body shots under the ribs (stopped Weathers like that) short left uppercut inside (the one he nearly bounced Rahman out of the ring with) hard right uppercut (the one that torpedoed Levi Billups) as well as a pretty fast and busy jab. Watch his early fights. Great foot movement, lateral movement as well as distance control. Its only in his later years that his foot speed slowed and his stamina went to hell.

 

Corrie Sanders was a journeyman level fighter. He had a swift, powerful left hook and absolutely nothing else.

The reason why I don't think that Golota qualifies is that he came back and arguably deserved to win a title on several occasions (Ruiz and Byrd fights). He definitely could've been better in the late 90s and early 2000's, but Lewis would always knock him out. So I don't think he was the biggest underachiever ever. Tony Tucker is as qualified as Golota, for one.

 

If Sanders dedicated himself, he would have been like Kovalev. Boxer-puncher with good power, but with much quicker hands and that nasty southpaw stance.
