Tyson first loss at 23 against a former title challenger and a ranked contender like Douglas isn't really comparable to Wlad losing at 22 against a career journeymen who had lost a third of his fights. Wlad was then 26 when he lost to Sanders and 28 when he lost to Brewster. Tyson was older aged 30 when he lost for a 2nd and 3rd time against Holyfield so their ages were not that comparable there being a 2 and 4 years difference. Tyson's first 3 losses were against far superior opposition than Wlad's losses.
I knew someone would bring that up. Tyson tested positive for cannabis. So in reality he beat Golota, to my knowledge cannabis has never enhanced athletic performance in fact it's probably a hinderance. So a doped up Tyson win over prime Golota is better than Wlad's best win.

What did Bruno, Ruddock and Golota ever do that surpasses what Povetkin or Byrd achieved. Ruddock made his name of giving Tyson two tough fights and lost every time he stepped up. Please tell me who on Ruddocks resume has he beaten who is on par with a Byrd or Povetkin. Golota again made his name off the Bowe fights and lost everytime he stepped up outside his Byrd draw. Lewis, Brewster and Austin all handled him easily. Tucker is a top 10 fighter in any era, excellent but beatable fighter. Again though his best win is probably Trevor Berbick, hardly awe inspiring.
If you think so, it makes sense to pick Mike above Wladimir. I can see it go both ways to be honest. Stylewise hard to predict, but that's often the case with a Klitschko brother. What tougher opposition did Mike face?
Wlad is above him, although to be fair last night was the kind of display Tyson was capable of for a couple of years, or maybe 18 months. On that basis he cannot be judged above Wlad who has been consistent for the last ten years anyway.
Names? How? How does KOs get more impressive than Wladimirs? I agree that needs to be taken into the account. Wladimir never avenged two very embarassing losses, and that doesnt look good for an ATG.
This doesn't seem to be spot on :huh Byrd is a more accomplished fighter than Goloto, and whatever Ruddock did to deserve such praise is beyond me. It should also be added that Samuel Peter is a better win for Wlad than Pulev. I think their top wins are close and debatable. Wlads long reign tip the scale in his favour, while his embarassing losses tip the scale in favour for Mike.
How was Puritty an embarrassing loss? Wlad ran out of gas late, a young kid of 22 in against a season pro with pedigree that very few put away, it happens. Any notion that Wlad would not deal with any version of Purrity now is laughable. Maybe he should have avenged the Sanders loss, I agree, but Sanders bowed out of the game after Vitali.
That was in 2008atsch Golota was at his best in the 90's. Prime Golota had far more tools and talent than Wlad.
