Lucas Martin Matthysse: A Look Back at the Early Days of "La Máquina" de Argentina

Lucas Martin Matthysse is a 5'6.5 32 year old Light Welterweight with a 36-3 34 KO's record. Born in Trelew, Chubut, Argentina and currently fighting out of Buenos Aires. I don't care what anybody says, in my personal opinion Matthysse should be considered one of the best fighters in boxing today, all three of his losses are disputable, he beat Judah and got robbed, he beat Alexander and got robbed, and in my opinion the match with Danny could have easily been a draw especially if you discount that bull**** KD, had his eye not been shut for the last 6 rounds he would have beaten Danny probably by a late KO. What did Danny follow up his victory with, he got schooled by Herrera and beat up a Lightweight midget to get his confidence back. Lucas on the other hand came back and had one of if not the FOTY with John Molina and followed it up with a 2nd round KO of Mexican prospect Roberto Ortiz. Lucas has bounced back this year far better than Garcia (who I don't dislike) and hopefully next year he can get back to the top of the sport and eventually work his way to another title shot, but I doubt it'll be against Swift since he won't even rematch Herrera. Matthysse is a beast and always has been so let's look back on his early years brutalizing countless Argentines, many by horrific savage KO's. No most boxers don't lose hearing in one of their ears after a fight, that's not a common occurrence, tinnitus yes, going deaf in one ear, no. The only other time I recall hearing about a boxer going deaf after a match it was Gerald MsClellan, and that was from bleeding on the brain.

Matthysse hits extraordinarily hard, can't you give him credit for that. You say Danny beat him, then denigrate Lucas and call him a loser, well that must mean Danny's victory isn't worth very much, if all he beat was a loser. Your invalidating Danny's best win genius.

 

I wrote the Cult of Overhypers thread as well. I never thought that Lucas would steamroll Danny every time Lucas has a higher caliber opponent he doesn't walk right through them Devon, Zab, Ajose, so I know very well what your talking about it irritates the hell out of me as well. I also am apprehensive about all hype GGG gets. So don't lump me in with delusional fans who don't understand levels, Lucas is good, Danny is good I expected a close fight, but I wasn't posting on here at the time.
