who is more technically skilled; prime Wladimir Klitschko or prime Antonio Margarito?

I can't believe that Boxed ears was able to make a legit thread out of troll attempt......he's actually right on many levels......

Other than the fact that he left off that Margarita has double digit losses...or close to it...but yes Margarita in his prime lost and beat better opponents than Wlad.....

As a matter of fact can someone name Wlads best three wins?

Margarita isn't a better classic boxer but yes Boxed is right, for the style of boxing that Margarita uses he is perfect for it....you can't use traditional boxing styles in some examples out of context....

That's like saying that little ****** guy on Bloodsport wasn't a textbook fighter based on Jean Claude Van Damms style.....but in that ****** style where that guy learned to fight he was the best at what he did, that is how he got to that tournament.....

Margarita is equal to the ****** guy....

 

not sure if this is a serious question. I don't see how ANYONE that is a fan of the sport could ask which of these two fighters are better technically.

Wlad has 3 punches and doesn't know what a body shot is

 

Just because he chooses to not throw them doesn't mean he can't.... Also, pre-Steward he went to body... Just goes to show how little you know.

Just off the top of my head he landed some nice body shots on Schultz, and Mercer.

That's the style he chooses to fight and it's effective so why change back. Loads of people say Ali is one of the greatest but very rarely went to the body and he clinched a lot like Wlad, yet one is called a great and exciting fighter and the other a limited boring fighter, often by the same people.

Just my personal opinion IB I would much rather watch a Fighter who gives 100% in ring that watch a guy like Wlad who acts timid afraid of being hit then grabs & holds. Margarito wasn't a skilled technical boxer he was a fighter. He always gave 100%. I still say that Oscar, Floyd etc were AFRAID to fight him they were part of a conspiracy to get rid of him by other means

I get what you're saying, but the question posed in this particular thread's OP and title didn't ask "Who do you find more entertaining between Margarito and Klitschko?" (in which case my answer would also be Margarito).

Even some of the things Margarito had some technical ability to do like cut off the ring on a guy, Wlad has been quite capable of doing when he wants. Some people saying uppercuts for Margarito which is Wlad's weakest punch, but when he throws one it's not like he's throwing a bad one. I don't see much Margarito does that a coach would say Klitschko does worse. And if you think defense is half of the sport's skills, like half and half, defense and offense, Margarito barely showed anything but the most rudimentary defense as I remember his fights. And that was about as common as Wlad throwing uppercuts. So not sure what the poster would be talking about that caused you to start the thread if he was serious. I don't know how anybody could be serious and believe Margarito had more technical skill.

No coach would call the way Margarito executes any particular move or technique preferable to how Klitschko does.

In many cases, they would call the way Klitschko does it vastly preferable and more teachable.
