What is the quality of the opposition he has faced compared to the past legends?

 

Wlad is already the stuff of legend.

 

His secret is his will to suceed. Everyone was counting him out and he proved everyone wrong and will probably go down in history as one of the absolute greatest boxers of all time.

To have the mental will to comeback from the hole he was in shows that he has the heart of a champion.


I mean just look at the post at this forum it's ridiculous how many people can hate a great champion.

If people can dissect Tysons opposition then why not wlad? Is this a good era for heavy weight boxing? Lennox Lewis on record has said that the klitschko brothers have devalued boxing with their boring styles and the fact that their competition is so pathetically weak.

 

Lewis knows the klitchko bros are great fighters, he beats em both but he respects them.

 

Wlad's chin is china. I cant remember a fighter who took any clean shot to any part of the face as bad as Wlad takes it.
The shots dont even have to carry any real power behind it, if it lands, Wlad's face shows complete panic and the first thing he thinks about is to go for the clinch immediately.

 

Even Tyson does but both have commented on their pretty weak opposition over the last decade and how the heavy weight boxing is facing it's worst era. LL still cannot stop making comments on how he will eat the klitschkos for breakfast, lunch and dinner if he was still fighting

 

Wlad has one of the most well-rounded heavyweight resumes of any heavyweight champ in history.

No, there's not an A+ name. But there's as wide a range of styles and sizes as you could want this side of Evander Holyfield, who clearly has the widest range of opposition (and the names to go along with it) since Ali.

Hell, besides Wlad and Holy, good luck finding heavyweight champs that even bothered to fight southpaws.

Historically speaking, the heavyweight champion is the single most cherry-picking position in all of boxing. You can't say that about Klitschko. Wlad's fought all styles, shapes, and sizes, and has given all comers a chance.

 

Lennox just comes out looking like a clown when he makes comments like that. He retired from boxing right at the moment two big Heavyweights his size were upon the scene.
He runs away from a Vitali rematch when everyone wants to see it again, and then he has the gall to drop hints that he could come out of retirement every now and then only to keep his name in the paper.

"I could have done this and that" but the reality is that he ran away from a real challenge as soon as one presented itself.

Can you imagine? If Lennox would have had one more fight, the rematch with Vitali who has dominated since their fight, if Lennox beats Vitali in the rematch, his legacy would trump well over either Klitchko today, but instead there are just ??????????


Now that I think of it, Lennox did the absolute right thing, he'd have gotten his *** royally beat by Vitali.

 

Damn that Wladimir Klitchko. I once was a fan and actually rooted for him up until he put a long string of fights that were purely clinchfests. I shook my head everytime I watched a John Ruiz fight thinking, "how can a ref let him get away with those tactics."
Then comes along post Lamon Brewster Wladimir Klitchko, the one that makes John Ruiz look like a ring general in comparison, and it just turned me off as a fan.

to be fair, lewis stopped one inside half the distance whilst in his worst shape. given wlads weak chin, its quite conceivable that he could deal with both on the same day, inside 12 rounds, andthen sit down for breakfast.
