Lads I am going to the Lee-Korobov fight. Anyone know where I can get tickets apart from Ticketmaster. I would like to make sure I am amongst the Irish support. Cheers.

Don't take this personally Mac, but is there any chance you'd intervene out of a sense of "civic mindedness", you know "good citizenship" ,....that kinda stuff?

The "it's not my job" attitude is one of the things that has ruined this country. Any number of strong, healthy able -bodied Irishmen stood by and watched that happen...and did nothing. In a way it's the story of Ireland, sadly.

Seen there on twitter that young Ray Ginley is sparring Andre Dirrell in the states. Invaluable sparring for a young prospect that, another one of the reasons why it pays to go the US for a pro career.

Sparring obviously helps. Did you see the difference in Spike versus previous fights? So much more fluid etc...and sparring BJS must have been a factor there IMO.

20 year old Cork boxer Noel Murphy is going pro in NY.

Anybody know him from the amateurs?

He was sparring Martin Murray and Buglioni aswell. Great sparring for sure. I really hope Spike has turned a corner in his career, because while he did look like he could do go pretty far earlier on in his career, never really looked that good against solid opposition. He looked good against Fitzy, improved on timing and speed for sure, hope it continues.

Surely sparring Murray and Bugsy would onlyhave made him More stiff, slow and wooden BJ?

Seriously though, like you, I would love it of Spike has regenerated into "Spike Version 2.0". He has always had the power and toughness, but he lacked the speed and athletics ability. For him to achieve such a transformation now would be astounding, one of the most spectacular improvements ever.
I will say this..he has a set to his jaw and a gleam in his eye that tells me he is now a very very committed boxer indeed. Watch this space....:good

Please tell me you ain't wasting all that money, Dutchie? Give it to me, give it to charity...hell, burn it in the fireplace - at least that way you'll warm yourself with it.

Even if Andy gets pastthe truly dreadful Korobov, which he might manage to do, where is he going?
He should give it up IMO.
These two mullokers, Lee and Korobov are being set up to contest the title as part of an agenda to "keep it warm" for the real "champ in waiting" - they are being installed as temporary caretaker champ.
The winner will lose it to the first guy with a pulse he faces......BJS, Eubank...hell even Spike would clobber these two!

    You are a Langer!!!!!
Where will he go you say if he beats Korobov----HE WILL BE WORLD CHAMPION.
An Irishman as a full world champion(not an interim like Dunne).
You seem to get very exited about Spike who is rated 51st on Boxrec ratings and hopefully will rise and more luck to him but to be so negative in relation to Lee is a total disgrace and total ignorance on your part.
If you have nothing good to say about an Irishman fighting for a WBO world title then say **** ALL.

Having been blown out of the water in the "economics" forum I see you've decided to give the boxing forum one more go, STB.
    I gotta love a tryer! :lol::good
