Who will be Wladimir Klitschko's next opponent?

Really, in a perfect world, Jennings would have another 2-3 years to get himself ready for the shot (at which point Klitschko will be 40 and probably focusing more on his family than pushing his career much past two decades), but for now he is the best present option despite his lack of readiness.

 

How is he a joke?

I've long been a Huck critic, but he showed us something when he moved up. Many thought he got robbed. Granted, that was Povetkin during one of his less than inspired periods (still yet to unravel the damage Atlas had done to his style, in fact this was the fight over which they split, because Atlas didn't want to come to Russia for camp since it was in the midst of FNF season) but still.

I'm not saying he offers Klitschko any kind of challenge, but as far as being a joke at heavyweight... I rate his performance in the 'loss' to Povetkin over any win that, say, Bermane Stiverne has. (a pair over Arreola isn't really that special)

 

It looks like Briggs has actually managed to clown his way back into the contenders picture.

 

I would guess his next fight would either be Jennings or Fury-Chisora, especially if its Fury.

My guess would be Jennings is the slight favorite due to him being on HBO before and it would remove Jennings as the mandatory to Stiverne-Wilder making a unification fight much easier to make.

I think Jennings could really use some more experience before getting a shot at Wlad. For 19 fights his schedule has been pretty solid but Wlad is a massive step up for Jennings at this point.

Even Fury would benefit from some more experience before facing Wlad. Chisora has a lot of experience in his 24 fights and would be as ready as he can if he beat Fury and faced Wlad.

This is the downside to Wlad basically cleaning out the division. You now see the next generation of fighters being rushed into shots. Guys like Jennings, Fury, Glazkov, Price, Wilder, etc could all use some more expereince before getting a shot at Wlad.

My ideal scenario would be for Wlad to face the Fury-Chisora winner next, preferablly in England to add some interest to the fight. At the same time Jennings faces someone, on HBO, like Arreola or Glazkov. Then you get a Wlad-Jennings in the summer with the unification fight at the end of the year.

Why not make Povetkin/Huck II? After all, the first fight was competitive, but I would have to agree with Boxed Ears that it was no robbery, and that was certainly Povetkin at his worst. But should Huck win he would most certainly put himself above the rest of the pack and nobody would be able to criticize a fight with Wlad.

I'd like to see how easily the new and improved Povetkin handles Huck, I think he boxes his ears off and then adds yet another highlight reel KO to his record.
