The champ will have a busy 1st quarter of 2015.

Next month she will be co-headlining with European lightweight champ (and probably Belgium's male #1 p4p) Junior Bauwens, in a light welterweight tune-up against Florence Muthoni. The Kenyan, who actually campaigns at welterweight, twice challenged Jennifer Retzke for her IBO title, the first a majority draw with Muthoni getting the nod on the dissenting card and the rematch a split decision loss. So her record is unimpressive and lacks any wins of note but she's a big, tough, more than legitimate stay-busy opponent.

Then eight weeks later, she takes her WBC title on the road and defends it against her mandatory, WBC #1 contender Nicole Boss, in Boss' home of Berne, Switzerland. Boss is the current European lightweight champ, the female counterpart to Bauwens. Persoon and Boss met four years earlier for that same then-vacant European title, with Persoon taking it by wide unanimous decision. Since then Boss has gone 8-1-1, and in 2013 and 2014 has gone 6-0 (3) including the capture and two defenses of the Euro belt.
