Would the great heavyweights of the past lost to ANY of Wlads opponents?

It's sacrilege, and I risk my good name every time I mention something like this, but I think Rocky Marciano would have problems with a lot of them.

He wouldn't need to upset the odds against more than half of the past champs, because he would be the favorite. :)

Nothing to do with rose tinted spectacles. Prime against prime guys like Povetkin and Pulev would get absolutely clowned by Ali.

Normally Wlad wouldnt lose to guys like Purritty and Brewster, he has beaten fighters much better than that.
Normally Tyson wouldnt lose to Douglas and McBride, he has beaten fighters much better than that.
Normally Lewis wouldnt lose to Rahman and McCall, he has beaten fighters much better than that.

See where I am going? As a heavyweight you can lose to everyone on a bad day with bad luck.

Frazier was small and crude and would be beaten by Ibragimov, Chagaev, Haye, Povetkin, etc

Ali was hopeless against southpaws so definitely loses to Chagaev and Ibragimov.

Holmes had top skills and great will to win, but the difficulties he had with Norton and ****ey for instance, shows he'd probably lose to several of Wlads better opponents.

Foreman would lose to speed merchants like Ibragimov, Haye, and Pulev.

MANY of the fighters Wlad has dominated WOULD have been dominant in past eras! [I don't include Lennox's era!]

This thread is just the latest one of many anti-Wlad threads, simply because he dominates American HWs. They are starting to get a bit tedious.

If the U.S did not get a HW champ over the next 100 years, there would still be American posters harking back to the 'Golden Age' and bringing up Ali, Foreman, etc.

Frazier would get demolished by half of Wlads resume. That's just how limited, small, and crude Frazier was. Frazier wouldn't even fight at HW today. He'd fight average CW guys like Huck and Hernandez and it would be close every time.

That makes way too much sense for this thread. Well stated.

True. And Mildenberger was then called a Eurobum. Which he was. If Ali was struggling with Milde how would Ali have struggled against a 6'4 Pulev who is bigger, more awkward and tougher than Milde?

If jimmy young can oubox foreman , so can haye, byrd, povetkin or ibragimov
If bums like rahman and mccal can ko lewis ,so can prime thompson, chagaev , haye or povetkin.
And I'm not going to talk about overrated tyson, he could lose to many of wlads oponents

I wouldn't pick any of Wlad's opponents to beat a lot of the great heavyweights from the last 50-60 years. Pre 50 heavies is a different story.

In fairness I probably wouldn't pick anyone that Louis, Holmes,Liston, Marciano, Charles,Dempsey,Foreman, Johnson, or Tyson beat to beat Wlad.

I don't see guys like Ali, Holmes, Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Foreman, and maybe a few others losing to anyone Wlad beat in a one off fight. But I'm not sure I see them all going undefeated against the same guys over the same time frame.

Upsets happen all the time and consistency counts for a lot Thats why someone like Marciano can rate higher than guys like Lewis and Tyson.
