Connor Law from Glenrothes has also just turned pro after being on the Scotland team for a while and missing out on the Commonwealths after a box off with Lewis Benson. Had his first pro fight on Saturday and won by KO1.

Certainly plenty of talent kicking about.

My favourite bug-bear on this forum... World class is not just the top couple of fighters in a division. It's absolutely legitimate to say all the top 10, maybe 15, are world class. Stuey Hall's last world challenge showed yes, he is world class! Ricky certainly was.

David Brophy will move on next year and should fight for domestic title at least

He must be, PSJ is at world level, Callum has bi-passed British, it leaves Brophy right in hunt I would imaging. A fight like Brophy v Webb would be a good fight at this stage I feel

You haven't heard of Carl Frampton then have you? And what does my nationality have to do with it? Of course Id rather Ireland have more world champions but does that mean I cant criticise a boxer who really did fight shams and when he signed with a new promoter who stepped him up only to be found out as being nothing but average?

Frampton is a world class world champion, that the people of his country Northern Ireland and his nation of Britain are very proud off

I think Carl is a very good fighter but beating someone you already beat at euro level doesn't mean your world class, he has everything going for him though thanks to Barry's hard work, I'm amassed that you could question Ricky Burns or his ability

Thing is Burns found his level and Frank W.arren kept him at that level with bums. Hearn stepped him up a he got found out.

Do you think that he just start sliding when Hearn was promoting him? No, his opponents just got better and he couldn't match them.

Go back on this forum and look at all the threads in relation to this fight everyone was saying "****** won't put Burns in with Katsidis his first fight at LW" "Katsidis will knock his head off" "This won't go past 6 rounds" the shot jibes only came out after everyone got it so wrong.

Good timing for Scottish boxing. After praising Burns in this thread i must admit I doubt I would pay money again to watch him. Simmons doesn't have a big following either but I reckon if Charlie has a good 1st year as pro he will certainly start to pull the crowds up.

Stephen Simmons has a big following m8. If Eddie Hearn put Brophy in a British title eliminator, Simmons in a good fight for a belt and Limond in a British title/commonwealth defence or a European title fight all on the same bill you would get 5000 plus in Glasgow
